CA Semiauto Rifle Registration

DougB: There's a rather significant difference between refusing to register, becoming a felon today, and refusing to turn in the registered gun, and becoming a felon tommorrow.

Refuse to register, and they have to find out who you are before they can do anything about it. How are they going to do that? Door to door searches?

Register, and then refuse to turn in, and they KNOW you're a felon; All they have to do is take the registration list, and re-label it "Felon list".

So you can become a felon today, and make it hard for them to catch you, or become a felon tommorrow, after making it easy for them to catch you.

Of course, realisticly, if you don't become a felon today, you're not going to become a felon tommorrow; Submission to tyranny only becomes easier with practice, you know! If you haven't got the balls to refuse to register today, when you can almost certainly get away with it, I wouldn't bet good money on your having the balls to refuse to turn your guns in tommorrow, when you're absolutely certain to get caught.
