Buy once, cry once.

Here are those grip pics,,,

Here is a pic of the back straps,,,
The Model 85BB is on the left,,,
The Model 87 is on the right.

I measured them with some cheap calipers,,,
The 85BB was 1.268 inches across,,,
The 87 was 1.276 inches across.

As you can see the grips while very similar,,,
Are not an exact match to each other,,,
That's where the slight difference is.

So for all practical purposes,,,
The grip width is the same for the 87 and the 85BB.

The feel of the guns in my hand is identical,,,
Closing my eyes I really can't tell any difference.

Saved for several months to add a Smith 4-inch 686+ to my collection, and it was well worth the time I spent drooling over magazine tests and online reports ... Also had to spend some time collecting cash for my Springer 4-inch Loaded 1911, one of my all-time best buys and now my HD gun ...

Im always saving for my next firearm purchase, even beforeI know what I want , before I start research. I start saving right after my last purchase. I love it when I go into buy something and that snarky littleknowitall behind the counter say , "well will this be a credit card buy" and i say "no i will pay in cash". Somehow very satisfying. I just bought a new sig 229, so i start saving today. keep the faith, its worth waiting, credit card is predatory lending.

I am saving for a Beretta 87 and need some encouragement...

I'm saving for one myself, an 87 and 85 may be the last guns I buy. I already own a Colt Matchtarget and a BDA for a .22lr and.380acp but I really want the Berettas

A Glock 10mm G20 Short Frame, with the long slide and comp. I'm not big on Glock's, but this gun screams cool bad A's*. Just ordered the gun, and that's just half the equation, and money. A lot of the parts are on back-order, so it's still a few month's away. It's around 7" before it leaves the end of the comp.

But here's a pic of what it will look like.:D

Around?

It's been years since I was last called "Around". ;)

Most people spell it as Aaron, or Arron, or Arrow, or Erin, or Arnold, or Ardonde, or Aaron D.

I once got a Visa card for Around Graham.

No problem on the pics,,,
Glad they were of assistance.

Save up and buy what you want for your first. For me it was a Beretta 92FS. I had a couple of .22 plinkers but this was going to be my first 'real' pistol. It was $600 at the time (not that they've come down much, but others have gone up quite a bit so a few years back $600 was a lot of ching for a gun). Wasn't super spendy but it was a lot for me. I could easily have afforded something like a Sigma and I looked at the PT92 because it was almost $200 less but I really wanted the Beretta so I held off and kept saving (almost another year). Then I used the excuse of the Gander dollars to go buy it ($20 Gander dollars back on every 100 you spend). When I got home to the how much did you spend, well ..... "I got $100 back in Gander cash". :o

Hey, it was worth waiting for though. I'm really glad I got this gun over all the others I looked at and it's still my favorite. Probably always will be for the same reason that Marlin 882ss rifle will always be my favorite rifle ... it was my first and I waited and bought what I really wanted ... not just what I could afford.

I've gotten to the point where I rarely even want to buy any new handgun, rifles are another story. I don't care about anything polymer, not interested same goes for S&W revolvers with locks. I want steel, stainless if possible, but blue is ok, as is hard chrome. I'm not a fan of conventional nickel plating at all.

My current "want list":

S&W 29/629 no lock
S&W 686 no lock
S&W 1006
S&W 6906
Dan Wesson 44 in SS.
HK P7
Browning BDA 380

Rifles:

AR
AK
Ruger 10/22 of some kind.

I once got a Visa card for Around Graham.

That is funny. Being a good German, I have no middle name and wrote on my bank application "none". I promptly got my checks printed Andreas N. ...

But just like me, Aaron, you will have to continue crying. There are too many nice temptations out there.

I hear a 1938 Luger P.08 calling my name right now ...
