Budsgunshop.com is DANGEROUS!!!

I've been browsing Buds for some time and admiring both their prices and their selection. Last week I noticed the little advertisment on there about the 1 year no payment/no interest thing and it's been eating at me ever since. I have been craving a Beretta Cx4 for some time now and actually started donating plasma ($50 a week-not bad-but would seem to indicate a serious firearm addiction) to raise extra money for it. So today, just for kicks, I clicked on the advertisment to check it out. After reading it, I went on to fill out the online application, again, just for kicks, not really expecting approval. It literally took me about one minute to fill out the application. I hit the submit button and not two seconds later I have a $5000 approval for purchase at Buds!! next comes a call to Buds, (took all of five minutes at most,) and BAM! Cx4 is on it's way:eek::D I'm still somewhat stunned at how fast and easy this all went down.
Now there is a slight downside to this story, (aside from the fact that I'm now in debt.) Long story short, selection of the 1 year plan add 8% to the advertised cost. Having done the math before hand, this added % equals, almost exactly what my cost with tax would be if I bought this at Sportsmans warehouse right now. The main difference is that I will probably be shooting this thing next week and have until Nov-2008 to have it paid off.:o
So I must warn you, Buds is dabgerous!;)

Agreed !!

I wasn't normally a Buds Gun type of guy, but an acqaintance of mine recommeded that I browse their site for good deals on varying firearms.

Wouldn't ya know it, the first time I logged onto the site there was a Para Ordance Limited Edition 1911 4.25" barrel with goodies that only come on higher priced 1911's. The cost shipped ?...............$569.00 to my class III dealer since he only charges me a beer or two for the transfer.

If you haven't looked at the Para Limited Edition and your in the market for a reliable 1911 with some extra's then do yourself a favor and visit their front page and check it out. I replaced the grips with Strider Gunners in Desert Tan and it runs like a Gazelle. It also comes with two mags which to me appear to be Wilson Combat mags.

I ordered my Five Seven from them.

Be aware that they are a sponsor at the Fn Forum, and they sometimes have specials at our site that are a little cheaper than at their own site :D

I did the same thing. Buds is not the only one offering the GE Money Sport card. It is a good thing when you can shoot the gun for 90+ days and not have to pay for anything but amo.

Oh man, why'd you have to tell me about his?! They have an Armalite AR-10 6" A2 in .308.......my dream AR....AAARRRRRRGH!!! Must..resist..temeptation...

What's more dangerous than Budsguns.com?

my class III dealer since he only charges me a beer or two for the transfer.

I think that's more dangerous, or to correctly put it, it promotes unsafe behaviour dealing with budsguns! :D

I'd be happy if I can find an FFL holder that will do transfers for me under $25 - $30 in California. josh

Resistance is futile!

Just wanted to say, thanks to the OP for this thread...you owe me for the cost of 1 Bushmaster M4 A3 Patrolman's Carbine!!!! :D Oh well, I've been hemming and hawing about geting an AR for years now anyway....at least this motivated me to finally do it....and I think I'll be happier not having gone the "what's the cheapest way I can get and build and AR just o fill the 'hole' I feel not having one" route. I think for the money I was willing to spend (I would have built one myself, for less money, but I kept spending the chunks of AR parts money on more milurps...I had gotten to the point that if I didn't buy the whole gun at once, it was never going to happen. :o), I'll be VERY happy with my new gun.It has all the features I wanted, and looks like a quality rifle that will outlast, and out perform me, so what else could I ask for, right? Thanks again...both seriously and sarcasticly....:D
I'l post pics when I get it.

VERY dangerous!!

Yup, I have been a Bud's customer for a couple of years now.
When they started the "1 year no payments, no interest" promo---I ordered a carbine AND a .44 mag revolver at the same time!

Two guns in one order!...Please, no one breathe a word of this to my wife....she might use one of my new guns on me!! ;)

Darn it !!

I went online this afternoon and filled out the credit app for Buds Guns. I didn't even realize that they are just down the road from me about 2 hours.

I was given a $5,000 credit limit and the GE Buds Guns card is in the mail, well at least on Monday.

What to buy? What to buy ? I think I'll sit on this for a while. Christmas is right around the corner and my older son may like something, ya think ?

So to all of you that have utilized this plan...is it just as stated? It says on the site you get 1 year to pay off the gun, the interest starts the day of purchase but you don't pay it unless you take longer than the year to pay it off. It also states for the 1 year plan that it's based on the retail price + 5%.
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/financing.php

"Option 2: 1 Year No Payments & No Interest if paid within 12 months (Valid only on firearm purchases of $500 or more). Retail + 5% pricing applies."

It sounds too good to be true............you know the old saying. Is it this simple?

Intervention!!!!

I am stepping forward to save all of you from your addictions. :oPlease send me all of your firearms you bought from Buds!! (not the bills!);) You must pay the bills as a lesson!!!:D:D:D Please send all ammo too!

To Krimmie and 82'nd trooper...

Krimmie...YES, it IS that simple---just make darn sure you pay it off before that year is up...

82'ndtrooper....how about ya' buy me one of those NAA Black Widow revolvers w/ 2" barrel in 22mag/22LR...?:D

Just trying to help ya' out with that $5000.00 credit!

Yep, just ordered an SA 1911 from them, my second order in 3 months. Great outfit, best prices on the web. Just be careful about that 'no interest for a year' plan. It's fine if you pay it off within that 12 months. Miss a payment or go over the year, and you will get clobbered with interest. The 8% hit up front is relatively painless, and becomes more so when you have that gun in hand. ;)

One note: BE SURE they have a listed gun in stock before ordering. The gun I really wanted said 'in stock' online, but after I placed my order, I got an email saying, nope, nowhere to be found. Bummed me out, but I was able to get my second choice.
