Brass Weight vs Case Capacity

JW- I meant that in the best way- That is some fenominal shooting for a Bi Pod.
Your groups are very good.

Nick- Your never at a loss for info,Thanks. I am just questioning everything as I have been mentored by what I consider the best shot I have ever seen. I try to duplicate all he does. While my scores have gone up very much since doing this and learning,I just want to have some info to go to him with. He has tought me to be so very meticulous in my loading and all stages of it. Including weighing the brass and culling out the odd weight ones.
I mean no disrescpect to anyone. Just absorbing all I can to better myself.

Oh I know. You had just got me thinking is all. Lol. To truly know if it was me or the capacity would be to take all human possibilities of error out if he equation.

I was mainly trying to use deductive reasoning. Two cases same capacity two holes touching etc etc.

This is very intresting. If case weight makes no difference, Why do all the top bench shooters sort their brass?. Some will buy 500 cases to get 100 that weigh the same.

Because they are using all the same lot and same headstamp, so weight sorting may prove to be an accurate method of case capacity and uniformity.

Weighing cases of different headstamps tells you one thin, how much they weigh and nothing else.

One can assume that a heavier case has less capacity, but as we have seen in this thread, that assumption may indeed be in error.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that have participated in this thread. I enjoy learning new aspects about precision reloading and getting other ideas to think about.
