Hi..My son just came home with his US history book,he is in 10th grade, and I was curious and looked up the section on the constitution. Guess what? 2nd Amendment:
Guarantees the individual states the right to maintain a militia..period!!!!!!Where in the hell is the rest of it?? Is this an agenda or what? I guess it should not surprise me,there is no doubt what they are trying to teach, or, (not teach) our kids.Funny how none of the other ammendments have important sections missing. Is there any recourse tothis? My son knows this is not correct and given any opportunity he will voice his opinion,or actually fact. This is pretty much blatant cencorship..Gotta go need a Tylenol...comments,suggestions welcome...PJ

Absolutely...Prentice Hall Simon & Schuster Education Group A Viacom Company
Copyright 1998
Authors: Andrew Cayton,Ph.D Elisabeth Israels Perry,Ph.D Allan M. Winkler,Ph.D

This has been out at my sons school since 1998 school year, according to the names in the front cover of students. So the misinformation has been here at least since then..PJ

This type of re-writing of facts concerning rights is a blatant attempt to raise a generation who are unaware, thus making further restrictions of our rights easier

I have a new student who is really getting off on debating political issues with our bleeding-heart Group Leader (okay, maybe I had a little to do with this). Anyway, lately they've been on the MMM and gun control in general. Today I brought the kid the issue of First Freedom with Rosie on the cover and advised him to read up for the next round... he came back and asked me for a copy of the Constitution, too! Fortunately (and this is one of the few times it's fortunate), our textbooks are pretty old, so the wording was still clear. He promised to study up.

This is a kid who did nothing but recite Eminem lyrics for the first week of summer school...sniff...I'm so proud of that kid...

That is great Duckhunt! My son just got home a few minutes ago,and I showed him what was in his book.He is ready for a debate,so I am rearming him with the facts..he knows most of them, but thought I would give him some more ammo. There is a great little book out there the NRA puts out called the second amendment primer..alot of good info..The war is on....PJ

Would the title of this book be America:Pathways to the Present?

This trio of Ph.D's all signed the Historians in Defense of the Constitution petition published in the NY Times during the Impeachment hearings. http://vikingphoenix.com/public/rongstad/history/400historians/400stmt.htm
I think their statment "We urge you, whether you are a Republican, a Democrat, or an Independent, to oppose the dangerous new theory of
impeachment, and to demand the restoration of the normal operations of our federal government." says it all for me.

Not too surprisingly, Andrew Cayton is also listed on this recent brief filed with the US Court of Appeals, Fifth Ciruit, as amicus curiae in US v. Emerson. http://www.potomac-inc.org/yass.html

I probably wouldn't want him teaching my kids either.

That's outrageous. I can't describe the helpless sinking feeling I get from this fact. I don't know how to combat this crap. Suing the school probably won't get you far, but it's worth a try. This is insidious, as it's slowly indoctrining our kids without most parents' knowledge. I would yank my kids out of that school and home school if the school board didn't immediately pull the book after being asked. But I don't have kids, so what can I do?

Duck Hunt...good on ya.

pj0759....Perhaps petition the school board to remove the book. Grounds being easily demonstratable false information presented as fact.

Duck Hunt and all the rest,
Give 'em 9 kinds of He11!
As a teacher I can't tell you how frustrated I am with the defecation they pass off as textbooks in the school systems!
Maybe I just live/work in a good system but most of the history teachers I know around here are civil/revolutionary war buffs. One is even a reenactor and comes to school at least once a year in full gear complete with muzzle-loader to give demos. I went by once during my planning period and he even let me do the demo once! Made my whole week!
The vermin who write the textbooks and try to shove the standardized testing racquet down our throats are the biggest bunch of [censored][censored][censored] useless [censored] that ever [censored]. I have to say that a few years ago when they tried to force an extremely PC curriculum down the throats of the history teachers here the teachers got fed up and told them to go [censored] themselves. They have since rewritten it.
Make sure that the teacher is aware of the spin. 'Suggest' that the classes take a look at the real Constitution and discuss not only the discrepancies but the sly agenda behind them. If the teacher gives your grief then [censored] him, get a group together, and start calling school board members.
My two cents.

Heck it is even worse out here in CA. Just this last weekend I was talking with a couple of 16 year olds after we had gotten back from dove hunting (they like my dog, what can I say)... both ag majors and both A students.... One had never heard of the Constitution. The other one knew of the constitution, although he had never read more than the bill of rights. I gave both of them a pocket copy of it and explained the importance. I guarantee that both will be fluent by the end of the week.

"This year will go down in history. For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our
police more efficient and the world will follow our lead into the future!" - Adolph Hitler, 15 April 1935, in an address to the
Reichstag.

Go to the teachers, got to the parents, go to the principle, go to the schoolboard, got to the city, the govenor, The papers, the news, anybody that will listen. Spread the rotten stink that these communist bastards would like to pass of as the "new constitution" so that your children might grow up stripped of rights they never new they had, or even could defend. The "New government" will work efficiently and as without incident as an anthill does, where every worker slaves day in and day out in supposed "equality" while the selected few "government officials" get rich and high off life while you sweat away your life just to earn your bread and water, drive your plain biege volvo to the same factory that the man in your family have worked at for generations. This is what they would like to do to our freedoms, and it starts small, a simply laid, perfectly planned slight, in a Kids textbook.

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in
government." - Thomas Jefferson

Not surprising considering Viacom is very anti-gun and one of the largest supporters of the Million Moron March.

Well, I located it online. It's not listed under Prentice Hall's History section, it's under Social Studies. Go to Prentice Hall Online and click on "Prentice Hall High School" way over on the right side of the page. When you get there, click on "Social Studies" at the top (a little icon of the Lincoln Memorial). When that page loads (http://www.phschool.com/social_studies/index.html), see "America: Pathways to the Present" under PH@school, which is the second heading under Curriculum Support. Click on it and oila, American History [High School], America: Pathways to the Present.

Why it isn't listed under History in the Academic Catalog is anyone's guess.

For many years, the Marxist Socialists have been slowly taking over our education system, from the doctorate level down to pre-kindergarten. They have now succeeded, and that includes rewriting all the history books and anything that has to do with destroying our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Brainwashing the little children, then the grade/high school kids, then the college youths, is just part of their Grand Plan to bring about their Brave New Marxist Socialist Police State Utopia. That's why I say:

The Locomotives Continue Racing Toward Each Other.
