Bloomberg – Everytown for Gun Safety

In the name of love and safety !!!

He can proclaim that it's all in the name of gun safety and if that were true, why has he not promoted or in his case, required the Eddie Eagle program to be held in all the schools, in his state. We have tried to so, in our state with limited success. One class that was scheduled, was cancelled at the last meeting. If this program is presented in out schools and public places, then the local NRS's should demand equal time. Granted, I do not have any information on what they intend to present and that is why I will attend any and all local meetings. ......

You know, it's hard to fight anything that is presented in the name of "Love" or "Safety" ..... ;)

Be Safe !!!

He couldn't care less about gun safety. The word "safety" simply tested better than "control" with a focus group somewhere. Saying one is fighting for gun safety makes them sound moderate, and it makes it seem like we don't like safety.

It's sneaky and dishonest, but do we really expect any better from them?

Yahoo News is not generally considered a bastion of far right truth-telling, but they currently have no less than 3 articles mocking Bloomberg, 1 dissing Holder, and yet another about on-going pro-2a court cases. I wonder if the tide is turning so powerfully pro-gun that the fence sitters are jumping on the bandwagon.

I think Yahoo also tracks what topics are viewed the most from the computer you are using. I get a lot of topics in their selection related to gun control probably because when one is visible I check it out. There are probably other hot topics that if I checked them out a lot they would be more prominent.

One of the articals I read from Yahoo this morning made the point that gun control is a top down agenda supported by wealthy elites like Bloomburg and does not have much of a bottom up movement.

Have a great day.

Pardon my cynicism, but he will find some underhanded tactic to try and push gun control, rest assured.

The likelihood of his efforts failing be they strong or not, advocates for the 2A cannot get complacent. As much as we'd all like it to not be true, $$$ does talk, observing the NRA-ILA, that much can be proven.

Be vigilant and contact your reps.

Cheers all and happy Easter

What does NRA-ILA prove about money talking? SAF has a sliver of ILA budget and out performs IMO. B/c all the 2a money goes to NRA general fund instead of places that will use it for direct 2a defense thee antis haven't been that far behind on money. They still haven't made progress. Money works on issues people don't have a direct stake in. With close to 1/2 of registered voters owning guns I don't think money is going to get far. Maybe if the previous restrictions had a clear effect on crime, but all data points to ineffectiveness.

Just Donated my $25 On Line at www.nraila.org

done. Put up my $25 to battle Bloomberg's $50 M. 5 million NRA members times $25.00 and we're talking some real money.

Most gun owners favor exteded background checks??

This is just another run at "Extended Background Checks" and one of their arguments is that "Most" Gun-Owners are in favor of this law, Machen, from W.V. even came on T.V. and said so about his constituents. .... ;)

I would ask this membership and especially the gun owners of W.V. if they have ever been surveyed, on this specific issue? I know I have not and don't know" anyone" who has. ....

It depends on how the question is phrased. Once people are made aware of what "extended" and "universal" background checks entail, they're not supportive.

Understood, However ?????

Most of us, understand this and the question still remains;

The gun-grabbers are using this as supportive data for their agenda. ..... ;)

I hate to break it to you, but a few years back I was around a decent size group of gun owners who DID support universal/extended background checks. My local group of trap shooters. It came up one night and some of them seemed pretty put off by my stance on 2A issues. Some wanting to ban pistols and semi-auto rifles and the group as a whole not seeming to care one way or another.

Far from a national pole !!!

Not news at all as we have all run into that and far from some local or national pole that has stated that over 80% of "all" gun owners support Extended Background Checks. I'll bet if I ran a pole at most skeet/trap clubs, they would be you 100% against "Black-Guns". ....

Yes, sadly I think we’ve all seen similar situations. Regrettably I suspect some of it is a result of people willing to give up someone else’s rights in an attempt to protect their own.

Many feel like by giving the anti-gun crusaders “something” they’ll somehow be persuaded to leave everyone else alone. However, I believe we’ve seen just the opposite.
