Blackhawk 4 5/8 vs 5 1/2

In a single action revolver, I have always preferred the 4 5/8" as the balance, and carry better for me. I prefer how they look also, but that's just me. I am down to one revolver, a USFA SAA 4 5/8" that's a keeper.

5 1/2". Just works for me. But then I don't sit on a tractor/horse/mower all day either :) . Really personal preference.

. The .45 convertible, being on the lighter frame, is not rated for Tier 3 loads.
The grip frame only is alloy. The frame itself is steel and a large frame. It has no load limitations I know of and will handle Tier 3. The flattop has a smaller frame and cylinder is is restricted in its strength but not because of the grip frame, which is steel. I disagree with the above quote. But...I've been wrong before.

Unless he was referencing the Lipsey's flattop convertible which is on the medium frame and should be like limited to Tier 2 loads
