In all half-seriousness... I'd like to have an M1A. Save the good optics for bolt guns and use the extra cash to buy a lot of ammo and magazines. Not sure if you'd be picking them (varmits) off under 300 yards, but you could certainly cause much havoc within that range if they decide to organize into a heard or something.

If you gotta be at the 1000 yard mark, I'd take a .50 BMG just for kicks or the .300 winmag like someone mentioned.

See your point Kimber, but I think of a troll as someone who just comes in causing arguments, discord and calling names. As far as I know he has not called any names, caused any arguments (we all agree his opinions are ridiculous:D) and the only discord is whether he's actually trying to fool somebody or not. He should however stay to making his own threads instead of barging in on other peoples serious discussions.

I thought it was a Troll when I posted a reply, but I wanted to give him the benefit of doubt.
This is dedicated to the Troll taken from Stephen Vizinczey quote on Stupidity.

Strange as it may seem, no amount of learning can cure stupidity, and formal education positively fortifies it.

:D This kinda fits most of the socialist liberals.

In my usually humble opinion, "best scoped sniper rifle for home defense" is oxymoronic. Probably posted by a former SEEL or perhaps the anonymous developer of the ceramic Glock.

I think you guys don't understand Prettyboy's question...

He spends all his time in Kansas, but his house is in South Dakota. That's why he needs the sniper rifle for home defense.

:)

Nebraska is flat enough that he could shoot from Kansas to South Dakota. Might hit a water tower or grain elevator, though. Great place for shooting, it's where I grew up.

This is gettin' plumb redickle-dockle. It may be a little late, but it's time for that barn door to swing...SHUT!
