"Best" pocket .380?

The Sig P232 due to a German export ban to the US is in "now or never" situation. It's not the most pocketable, more like the size and weight of the Walther PP. But it will no doubt go up in value over time what with a finite supply much like pre 1986 transferable machine guns and Colt Pythons and HK P7's.

Good guns no doubt, but a large .380 will never increase in value like an HK P7 which is the same size, albeit heavier. With Beretta re-releasing the 84/85 series in the U.S., I don't see demand increasing for a large .380 as there are other alternatives, especially ones that are smaller, and lighter.

Another vote for the LCP with Hogue grip.
My wife and I both have one, and a Walther PPK/S for nightstand, or center console carry. I like shooting the Walther better, but always carry the LCP in my back pocket as a back up to whatever I'm carrying on my belt.

Having owned or shot most of the pocket .380's produced in the past 10 years I'd say the Kahr P380 is the nicest shooting gun. But the LCP is the easiest to carry with the thin profile and lack of controls to catch on things.

While I love the P238 and Colt Mustang I just can't get used to carrying a SAO gun in the pocket.

Don't forget the Walther PPK/S.

The trigger and fine sights makes mine very easy to shoot well. It is very very flat. Just drop it in your pocket.

Takes a big pocket to fit the PPK/S in and the weight can get old quick.

But if you can do it then great gun for sure.

I'll also chime in and vote the PT738 TCP. I shot the bodyguard, LCP, and P3AT. The 738 allowed me to get the best perch on the grip, I actually feel like I have a hold on the thing, the trigger is outstanding, and its one accurate little critter. Number hunting on a standard silhouette target is no problem for me. I mean from the low ready, pick a number, level the gun and fire. The trigger on the other three was horrid, The LCP broke all the way to the rear, I had to put just my finger tip on the trigger to shoot the thing. But I have larger hands and big fingers. SO everyones results will vary. The BEST is in the eye of the beholder.

For the best 'Pocket .380', it'd better fit in a pocket no bigger than a front jeans pocket at that; and also not pull your pants down around your knees nor require suspenders to do it.

For those reasons I'd go with S&W's 380 Bodyguard. It's been 100% reliable for my wife and I, weigh's next to nothing, and has a good enough trigger, if a little long in the pull dept, and will hold on a quarter at 10 yds.

I'm no fan of any .380's stopping power but if that's what you need to fit in your Speedo's at the beach, it's better than nothing. Anything bigger or weightier requiring some sort of holster, had better sport a better caliber...a 9mm at minimum. Rod

I am actually very pleased with my Taurus TCP. I'm not saying that it is the best .380 but it has been just as good as my Ruger LCP was and I gave $100 less for it.

Don't forget the Walther PPK/S.
Now THAT'S funny! Walther specs. list the weight in pounds! 1.5. Ruger as well as others who make actuall pocket 380's list the weight in ounces. 9.65 for the LCP.
So for the weight of the behemoth PPKs you could carry 2 Elsie Peas, and a Quarter Pounder with cheese in your pocket!:D
If you have pockets like clown pants needed for the PPKs you could carry a XDS 45acp that's 3 1/2 ounces lighter!
