Best made American Auto

I will say that I think a full size Glock is a great choice, but I'm not of an M&P man myself. If you can get that trigger to ~5 lbs then you have a dream machine. While I own mostly hammer guns, I'd recommend a striker gun all day every day.

What's American made? Beretta?, Glock, HK, SIG etc. all make weapons stateside.

If what you mean is wholly owned and operated then I would go with Wilson Combat and Ed Brown.

If not I would probably say HK45 these days.

For production, I'd say HK 45 or HK 45 C. No question.

Glock or Beretta maybe for 2nd place.

If we're not talking production, then we look to Wilson Combat, Nighthawk, etc.

My guess: Ed Brown 1911. Of course they cost more than 5 times the price of an RIA despite being only 4.8 times better. ;)

Whatever fits YOUR hand the best, balances the best in YOUR hands, meets YOUR needs in terms of caliber and price and potential uses, and comes from the list of reliable pistols. Beyond those, it's all moot.

American made ? and most mention European companies though made here !
American companies making guns in America ? Ruger ,Kahr and some others !!:p

My vote is for Kahr. Recently purchased a CT40, one of their "value line" pistols. Never had a polymer frame or striker fired pistol before but I am impressed, especially for the price. For some reason, you don't hear much about Kahr even though they get great reviews when tested by the gun mags. Recommend that you look at them if available in your area.

I wanted to say Dan Wesson but they are owned by CZ from the Czech Republic. And I could care less, a DW is a quality product, I have one & I'll buy more.

If a European company has a manufacturing presence in the U.S. and hires U.S. workers, then that's good enough for me! There are too many "American" vehicles being assembled in Mexico to split hairs over what "American made" means these days!

I have a Sig p250 and it's top quality but I'm going out on a limb here and put in a vote for Beretta PX4 Storm.

Best Auto Pistol?

This seems to me to be another Ford vsChevy / chocolate vs vanilla question.
IMHO the answer to this question is based on experience and individual taste.
I've never owned an Ed Brown or a Nighthawk or a Dan Wesson or a HK.
So,Based on my experience Glock and Ruger are hard to beat.
I'm not sure that I know what "the best" of anything really is.

The best for what??

Personal/cc self defense?
Home defense?
Target shooting?
Hunting?
Military / police sidearm?
Best mouse gun / pocket carry?
