best full size 9mm

BHP followed by the Sig 226. The Sig is the sexier newer gun but a good old milspec bhp is hard to beat. Glock 17 would run third place.

I like the Beretta 92 and Browning HiPower. The CZ-75 is way up there for me too.
I can certainly understand why the SIGs and H&K's are popular, although for a 9 mm I would prefer the USP compact.

Browning Hi Power and CZ 75 or 85. I've had my BHP for some time and they used to be affordable. Recenlty got a CZ 85 Combat. It is really nice. Workmanship every bit as good as my BHP and in some cases better. The BHP still fits my hand a little better but it's almost a toss up.

I have only 3 nine mms as it is

But am planning a couple more perhaps a Star model B and a Dan Wesson Pointman.
Current favotites are a Taurus PT99 that has never failed me in a couple of thousand rounds. And my Stainless 639 which I have had since 87 and has eaten many thousands of both ball anf hollow point rounds with nary a boble. Both fit me well as they are set up and are neat to shoot. I would trust either with my life (with apropiate ammo of course)
My third and last 9 is a mite unusual its a WWII luger all matching numbers made in 1941. ITS ALSO BEEN NICKLED AT SOME POINT IN ITS PAST losing ALL collector value thius Igot it as a shooter. Its still a very intresting gun to both own and shoot(and shoot it I do) :D

Anote vote for the CZ-75/85 series, particularly my CZ-75BD. So far I've put about 1000 rounds through it, not a single failure to fire or ejection/feeding problem.

My CZ 75 is my favorite 9mm. It is very accurate, reliable (1600-1700 rounds with only one minor hiccup), durable, inexpensive and has great fit and finish. Mine is my most accurate gun and it feels great. Right now I am "torture testing" it to see what it can do, I have 600-700 rounds without a cleaning and no hiccups during this time (I am oiling some parts though since I don't want to ruin the bushing). I may break down and clean it soon though, I like this gun too much and can't stand for it to be so dirty. This gun is seriously underpriced- it would still be a bargain at $100+ more.

I liked the SIG 239 in .40cal that I got to fire, so much so that I will be getting one within a year or so (except for the SIG 230 I wasn't a big SIG fan before that). It was the most accurate .40 I've tried and it felt incredible. I would guess that the 9mm would be every bit as nice so that would put it on my list.

I liked the Ruger P89 that I had. Very reliable (no problems whatsoever in probably 2000-3000 rounds- never failed to fire, feed or extract), durable, and inexpensive. Acceptable accuracy. Fit and finish leaves a little to be desired though. Due to only average accuracy and fit and finish that leave something to be desired I don't put it on my top 9mm list, however because of its exceptional reliablity and durability along with a low price I would say it is an honorable mention. If price is a big issue for someone and CZs aren't easily available in their area they should consider Ruger, otherwise they should consider a Ruger after they have a CZ.
