best full size 9mm

In your opinion (or experience), what is your favorite full size 9mm for combat/ personal defense uses? I personally like the cz-75b and the glock 17. They both seem to feed just about anything and are extremely rugged. The cz's accuracy is really amazing too. I'm not quite as good w/ the glock 17. But hey, that's what practice is for. ;)
 
For me it would have to be the CZ75B. THe ergonomics, cocked and locked carry and outstanding accuracy are what make this gun great to me.
 
These threads are fun. Asking which is the best 'X' will always bring out a ton of responses, most of them different.

Just to be different (and uncharacteristic! :D ), I will chime in w/ the West German made Sig P226 w/ hi-caps!

Honestly, my experience is that the 9mm round and its many hi quality platforms for shooting it are fun & effective. I'd shoot whatever's handy.
 
Full size 9mm...?

As in cartridge, e.g., 9x19 (Luger, Parabellum, NATO), 9x18 (Makarov), or 9x17 (Kurz, short, or .380)? Length, charge, velocity, energy, or what?

or

As in the gun's physical size, e.g., compact, UZI, etc.?

or

As in capacity (civilian), e.g., 6+1, 10+1, etc.?

We're already at so many choices as to make "best" like the "Miss Universe" title -- totally meaningless. My favorite is whatever's on the scene when needed, with the needed accuracy I can obtain, and enough capacity to get the job done. That seems to be a fluid situation....

OK, I confess, it is my only gun, and I have had it less than 3 weeks, BUT...

-It's relatively cheap.
-17 round capacity (unless you live where I do)
-It will likely outlive you (plus, in a SHTF scenario, you can find parts, etc.)
-Tons of aftermarket mods.
-Lightweight.
 
SIG definatley #1

I would definatley have to say the SIG p-226 is the best full size 9mm. Of course I have been told I am as fanatical about SIG's as Glock fans are about Glock's so I guess my opinon is biased. But oh well, I still say the SIG p-226, (which by the way I carried on duty for many years, before going to a SIG-PRO 2340).

Being the Beretta freak as I am....

Beretta 92G Elite II.

Even though I only have a 96 Brigadier. But the Elite is ordered, and I am waiting for it....
 
Best 9mm for self defense/combat is the gun that will digest FRANGIBLE AMMO .It's the ammo that stops them,not the weapon..Any weapon that will deliver that ammo with DEPENDABILITY will do..
