Best Compact 40 S&W

The best .40 S&W for me is the SIG 229 and if you're lucky enough, it could be the best .40 for you. Everything about the gun is quality. I have 2, circa 1995 and late 2001. I have the drop-in 357SIG barrel and several 12 rounders for it. However, any of the offerings from SIG, Glock, H&K, if a good fit, will serve you well. Good Luck. .........Whit
 
Just to throw a wrench in the works, I just picked up a Beretta 8040-F Mini Cougar... put about 300 rounds through it in less then a week, and boy is it a sweet compact .40...

it's enough to make me a Beretta man, (S&W's are my favorites!)
