Best 9mm For Concealed Carry?

Another vote for the Kahr, but the MK9 with the flush 6 round mag. I don't think the weight is an issue because you really need to carry these in a holster; the trigger is too light for pocket carry. That extra mass makes the weapon extremely controllable.

I think I saw a P9 Covert on the Kahr site. That might be worth is if the bugs have been worked out of the P series.

It's been a while since I've carried a 9mm, (357 Smith thesedays) but I think the S&W 3913 is a great choice. There are plenty of pre-treason 3913's in good shape were I live.....Whit

Smith and Wesson 3913 or 3953 if you have long fingers and a medium to large hand. If does not hide as well as the Glock but it is relatively thin and it feels great imho.

9mm concealed carry

I tend towards compacts and full-size handguns for concealed carry, so I'd vote for the Glock 19 and Hk P7M13. I've carried both during in IWB holsters in the hot summers in Houston. Though I've never carried one, I have friends who also swear by the Hi-Power. Depending on the flexibility of your agency's weapons policy, either the Glock or Hk may be approved for a duty weapon.

For subcompacts, I'd go with a Kahr K9 Elite or Glock 26. Despite its weight, the Kahr's slimmer profile would make it much easier to carry in shorts, t-shirt, and a good "tuckable" holster. I'd try it with a pager pal and thunderwear also.

Though not a 9mm, for deeper concealed carry, I'd suggest the NAA Guardian .380 or Keltec P32 in a pager pal. You can carry these handguns literally around the clock in plain clothes and switch to a vest holster if/when you're in uniform.

Still sticking by the old pre sellout model 59 I got in Chattanooga back in the Jimmy Carter era. 'Taint little nor pretty but it works well. from what I can find out it was one of the first ones they made after they fixed the initial problems but before they changed the model number for public relations purposes. :D

Kahr MK9. I can pocket mine with an Uncle Mike's sidekick #2 or #3. You do have to somtimes stabilize it with a hand in the pocket. I do wish they would come out with a MP9 as the MK9 is a bit heavy. Those Kahrs, they are so thin you can almost hide them anywhere.

Everyone either loves or hates Glocks. I sold my Glock, the only gun I ever sold, and have no regrets. Didn't like the trigger, the feel, the fit, etc.

If limited to a 9mm, I'd opt for a SIG, either a P239 or a P225. Deadly accurate and fully reliable. That's what I feel most comfortable with. On the other hand, a Kimber Ultra Carry in .45 ACP is about the same size, and only gives up a round or two compared to most small 9's.

I've carried a full size Walther P99 concealed off and on for years. I have no problem with carrying it all day in a properly designed IWB holster.:D

Well... after yesterday, I love the Keltec P11 a lot more. I have only shot about 250 rounds through it but suddenly, with American Eagle FMJ, it really closed up the groups!!!!!!!!!!!! It was shooting very well for me! It did have a failure to fire, a failure to ingnite on the 11th round TWICE... What is that all about???? Should I consider getting a stronger spring for the hammer?

Jody, your failure to ignite may be an ammo problem rather than a spring problem? You can put a heavier spring in, but it will give you a heavier trigger pull.

I'm also a fan of the Kel Tec. I think its the most "carryable" 9mm. Very light, higher capacity than the Kahr's and comes "melted" from the factory.

I think the description "poor man's baby-Glock" is accurate.

When I bench rest mine, its accuracy is pretty darn good. In offhand shooting, the trigger pull opens groups a bit, but as I have grown used to it the groups have improved, and I seem to shoot it as well as the Glock owners at the range shoot theirs. Reliability has been great.

First choice and the one that I carry - Walther P99.

Second choice and one I am considering for summertime Kahr 9mm.

Given your stated criteria, I don't see how you can beat the Kel-tec P11 - it beats all the others mentioned in nearly every category (weight, size, capacity, simplicity of operation). I like my P11 a lot. But I have to admit that the trigger pull is long and heavy. I would prefer that the pistol have an exposed hammer and be traditional single action. But it is a reliable, 11-shot 9mm that is VERY light and compact. If the plastic-framed Kahrs had been designed to use 10-round magazines, I might lean toward them...but they aren't (seems like a major mistake to me-didn't Kahr notice that Kel-tec takes a 10-round mag and still has a compact grip?).

Glock 26 ~ Right front pocket in a Uncle Mikes #4 Pocket Holster. It is the most accurate 9mm I've shot. We have a G-17 and used to own a G-19. I've also shot the Kahr, S&W 39, Beretta 92 and a couple other 9mm's.

I've modified mine with a set of Heinie Slant Pro Straight Eight night sights and the 3.5lb competition trigger package from Glockmeister. I also found out that the pinky finger extension was not needed, I'm better without it.
