best 9mm for a female.........

Browning Hi Power if you can find one. They seem to be rather scarce and when you do see them, they want an arm and a leg for them. The CZ is a good alternative. I picked one up last week and the quality inside and out is as good as my BHP. The SA, single action, might be better for small hands. The DA trigger on the CZ is a reach for some.

I would go with and HK P7M8, CZ-75 PCR or Sig 225 if the intent is concealed carry. If not the BHP is a fine choice and can be concealed, but is a little bigger with wider grip due to the double stack mag and larger capacity. All four are great choices, but if you have the money she will love the P7.

My girlfriend votes for her S&W 99. Adj grip is real nice feature. very light good balance. She went for the .40 because she thought the 9mm was too much like a .22. She's pretty deadly w/it.

Based on my observations of students in my CCW classes over the last 7 + years, I would recommend the Glock 19. Certainly there are other choices but the G19 works for more ladies than any other.

Contrary to most popular opinion, I specifically recommend against 2" five shot 38 Special DA revolvers.

Go with a Glock

It is the next best thing to a S&W .38 special revolver.

BTW, 2" bbl revolvers are not for beginners. A newbie should go with a 4" to 6" bbl if they are learning to use a DA revolver.

Went round and round with the wife trying to find her the perfect handgun (for everything except CC). I had her shooting everything from a Walther PPK, S&W 442, EG Makarov, Glock 17, Glock 19, S&W 915, Colt Diamondback, S&W 15 M&P, Sig P225, and then finally my semi-custom Ithaca 1911 .45acp. Guess which one she liked and shot the best BY FAR? Yep, the 1911. Fits her hand well, she likes the controls and SA trigger and the heft helps her to keep it level on target. Plus I am betting it would look pretty scarey in her hands.

The best 9mm for a female who hates recoil is pepper spray. :D

The best 9mm for a female who doesn't mind recoil that much is the best one for either gender:

1) Kahr K9
2) CZ-75D PCR
3) Glock 19

Take your pick.

No gun is gender specific, nor is any gender gun specific.

Let the person make an informed decision. If they like it, they will shoot it. If they shoot it they will become proficient.

Give her enough info to avoid junk and then get out of the way.
