Key word there is brown bear. They weigh 300 max grizzlys go in about 800. Kodiaks over a thousand.
Huh? Browns weigh 300 lb max? You might want to check your facts before you post stuff like that.
I find these bear vs gun posts very entertaining, but let's talk about real bears not mythical ones.

Blacks do here. I meant it to say blacks. Browns weigh about 600. Grizzly way more and kodiaks even way more than that.

My AR15 and a few loaded mags is stashed right next to my bed, so if unfriendly Mr. Bear breaks in the house he will definitely get shot down
You never know how the game is played till you play it. Bears have been killed by 22's, I remember back a bunch of years ago a woman killed a bear breaking into her house and all she had for shotgun shells was birdshot. Another guy shoots a bear with buckshot that was trying to get into his house through the air conditioner hole and a game warden had to kill the bear 30 minutes later because it still lived.
Any of the guns listed in the OP would work but those who chose the 30-06 chose best in my opinion. Those who think you can't work a bolt gun very fast just aren't that familiar with bolt guns. When you are shooting high power rifle rapid fire with an M1 Garand in your hands and a kid with a M14 on one side of you and an old guy with a Remington 70 on the other side and he not only finishes as fast as we do but shoots the pants off of us, well sir that is a rifle shooter. Mr. Bear no matter how big he is would have had a very bad day facing him. Gotta get that bullet deep inside where they can do their work and I just don't have a lot of faith in the other choices with the bullet selection given.

Black bears can be anything from yellow to black and while 300 may be a typical weight if you go back to December in this forum I think you will find the story of 62 year old Bruce Headly who killed a record 7' tall 829 pound black bear in New Jersey while he was deer hunting. Didn't say what gun he used but it took him 5 shots and he was hunting so he had time for that careful shot.Key word there is brown bear. They weigh 300 max
