Glocks are not "unsafe". If any shooter feels thay are, then it's probably the shooter that is unsafe!

Yup.

Sounds like LEO's need more training if they are having ADs. I wonder what kind of disciplinary action is levied on an officer if he has an ND.
Winner!! 90% of cops are NOT gun People; they carry because they have to. Many are truly un-trainable to keep their fingers out of the trigger guard.

They also are un-trainable as to the laws they are to enforce, but that needs another thread.

If you cannot keep your finger out of the trigger guard don’t buy a Glock or any double action revolver or semi DAO as you are to STUPID to carry it period.

Glocks are as safe and unsafe as any other firearm.

Simply put ... #1 -you put your finger on the trigger and #2 pull it to make the gun go boom, now the bullet comes out of the barrell.

If you don't get #1 & #2 together = safe :D

If you do get them together = not safe :(

If you get them together while you are pointing it at any part of your body = you are a dumb ass

Don't zombies try to eat everything. Maybe they would try to eat the business end of the firearm and make the mistake we are talking about... That might just be the $100,000 winner on Am. Funniest Videos...:D

First of all, Glocks are safe, its the damn bullet thats dangerous. I know people rant about keeping your finger off the trigger, but in an adrenaline charged situation trigger pressure tends to be more than perceived and you get accidental shootings. That is why some PD's tend to like DAO pistols, the 1911 is just as dangerous with the safety off and the gun in hand.

In a gunfight most people aren't thinking, is my finger off the trigger until I get out of the holster, thats why most PD's have extensive training programs with these pistols. That is where the citizen is at a disadvantage, they don't always have the resources for ammo and don't get the training. Like driving a car, usually training ones self is by trial and error, and error can hurt.

I feel owning and using a Glock requires a bit more focus than some other pistols. Lack of focus shouldn't be an excuse as with ANY gun TOTAL focus should be utilized, but thats in a perfect world.

The only safety issue I have is chamber support on the 40 cal Glocks. I have seen way too many once fired factory empties on the police range that had a large bell at the web and were way past spec for reloading. Even using the push through die I do not trust brass thats been stressed that much, it has to suffer from fatigue more than normal.

Steve-I don't believe that reply could be any more correct...

And, I got a great belly laugh out of it :p

my only other comment for this thread is: Hasn't it been discussed enough??

Hey Yankee-any luck with your M&P?
