I'm impressed by some of the insights into the human psyche I've seen here. I know in the 80s some people anticipated the "Red Dawn" scenario and stockpiled accordingly. Today the concern may be total system failure and anarchy, and some are hoarding food and water. I think such catastrophes are very unlikely, but it pays to be prepared. Of course, old food can kill you, but who would have thought our trusty powder could turn around and bite us?
