Anybody here voting for Gore?

David Scott, Sorry David, but your balance of power is wrong, not right. What parties controlled the House and Senate for the first two years of Clinton? What party controlled the House for forty straight years? It doesn't add up, does it?

Wallew, I sure hope your wrong about this apple. :(

He has been very pro-gun in Texas, and it was in large part due to us angry gun owners that his Dad lost. I'm hoping that the next 4 years are good ones for us, especially with some more conservative USSC Judges.

I don't think "ballance" is a valid reason to vote for gore. Congress is way overloaded with power hungry, bleeding heart, one worlder UN worshipers. Republican and Democrate alike.

I vote for Bush because he is slightly less odious than Algore. The rest of the ballot I will vote for the more constitutional regardless of party.

C'mon!! This is easy! I'm voting Bush, but I have a much tougher decision to make. I'm in PRNYS. If I vote Lazio, he's almost as bad as mrs. Klinton! If I vote Libertarian, I'm voting my conscience. I hope I find a job in a free state so I can leave this occupied territory!

I voted two days after my card got here. Which I might add...took me 4 months to get. I applied for it 2x at the DMV, then I sent in a vote reg to them then a sexond and a phone call telling them I was voting like it or not so they may as well send my damn card and make it easy and un-newsworthy.

I voted straight Libertarian but penned in Bush.

I'm voting Republican, for whatever canidate, right or wrong, straight across the board. What's important to me at this time in my life? Gun ownership!!!

To quote an old Ray Charles tune, "Tell your maw, tell your paw! I'm gonna send Klinton's ass back to Arkansas"; and Ghore's
back to the green, green grass of home!!!

I hate to admit that the Ghore scum-bag is from the great state of Tennessee!!!

responses to various above:

GWB is NOT his daddy. He is closer, in ideology and brass to do the job, to Reagan than his dad ever was.

The "balance" strategy is fundamentally flawed. The reason is simple. While we are over here arguing the constitutional imperatives for balance in houses, blah, blah blah - there are millions of sheep pulling the lever straight down the Democrat party line. You know what kind of "balance" that gets you ? Forty years of Dem control, as someone else pointed out.

I live in NJ, where socialist universalist Jon Corzine (the NY Times says he's left of EVERY other member of the senate) has spent more on his senate campaign than GWB has for President. I would sooner vote for the gum on my shoe than vote for Corzine or Gore.

Ten years ago I could have easily voted for SENATOR Gore from Tennessee. I don't who this guy is who has been using his name the past 8 years, but no way I could vote for him.

The fact the race is so close in is home state speaks volumes.

I read your reasons, David. Your reasoning is in accord with what political scientists call "split level realignment." People vote one party for president and another for Congress. Unfortunately, I think it's a bogus theory.
Fortunately, I don't.

quote:
Gore can get left-wingers as judges by bringing the full weight of the media and the ABA against Congress, particularly if he appoints judges who are "politically immune" from criticism (i.e. minority, female, handicapped).
So what it amounts to is that you have no faith in the Republicans in Congress to stand their ground, because they fear the media? Doesn't that go back to my contention that all politicians are mostly concerned with their own welfare and that of their financial supporters?

By the way, what has the American Basketball Association to do with Supreme Court justices? :) (I always thought the Bar Association was a drinking club.)

That's absolutely my view. Seen it time and time again. Vote for all Repubs--they're going to need both the congress and the White House to have a chance of developing any spine.

Unfortunately, we can't vote out the media.

Well, I will vote for Gore & Clinton to be tried for Treason. :D So lacking that option I guess it will be Bush.

I thought the senior Bush was way too liberal. I'll never forgive him for the treasonous '94 ban.

I think virtually all Repubs and Dems are far away from what I want.

But it will be cold day in hell before I voted for Gore. Lyin' bastard.

Well as I see it the possible answers are:

Yes No F*&K No!

Put me down for the last column. And I am a union man. However, I have a mind of my own.

Hey, it's a semi-free country. You get what you deserve. The truth is that voting for Bush is voting for the lesser evil. It's not like Bush is really going to drastically reduce the size of government, or push strict interpretation of the Second. There are serious character questions that reflect poorly upon those that elect Democrats. Democrats, in the recent past, have used victim psychology, class warfare, age warfare, fear mongering, lies and distortions. Do Republicans ever partake of these techniques? I think that they do, but it is with less regularity. I hear Democrats excuse themselves by saying that all politicians are the same. I disagree, in that they differ as to degree. I now view Democrats, the electorate, with a distrusting eye. You have got to believe that they use these same standards in their own lives. Beware..they will lie for advantage.
bush is the only one that will get gore out and if anyone thinks there is no difference between bush and gore ..... well, I guess we'll find out how bad things will really get , if gore wins this election...
