Anybody here voting for Gore?

Is anybody here man enough to stand up in front of his fellow gun owners and proudly exclaim why he's voting for Al Gore? Anybody? Is it money? Your job? Because you're a die hard union guy? Because you are a third generation democrat? Please tell us, step forward and anounce yourself. Anybody?

I read your reasons, David. Your reasoning is in accord with what political scientists call "split level realignment." People vote one party for president and another for Congress. Unfortunately, I think it's a bogus theory. Gore can get left-wingers as judges by bringing the full weight of the media and the ABA against Congress, particularly if he appoints judges who are "politically immune" from criticism (i.e. minority, female, handicapped).

The "Christian Coalition" pamplet is being handed out at work today, they are ruining my enthusiasm for some of the people I wanted to vote for.

Sure, because
1) He's a great kisser.
2) His Presidency will fulfill Unintended Consequences sooner so we can get this over with.

In order to keep a balance of power I'm voting for:

President: Brown. Indiana is going Bush big-time.

Federal House: Kerns - R-IN

Senate: Libertarian.

Govenor: McCintosh R-IN

State and Local: Straight Republican.

---------

I'm voting republican so much, because the fourth power in government(Press) is always Liberal.

MP

Hey, it's a semi-free country. You get what you deserve. The truth is that voting for Bush is voting for the lesser evil. It's not like Bush is really going to drastically reduce the size of government, or push strict interpretation of the Second. There are serious character questions that reflect poorly upon those that elect Democrats. Democrats, in the recent past, have used victim psychology, class warfare, age warfare, fear mongering, lies and distortions. Do Republicans ever partake of these techniques? I think that they do, but it is with less regularity. I hear Democrats excuse themselves by saying that all politicians are the same. I disagree, in that they differ as to degree. I now view Democrats, the electorate, with a distrusting eye. You have got to believe that they use these same standards in their own lives. Beware..they will lie for advantage.

I'll be voting for GW next tuesday. I have no well informed, politically insightful reasons for my decision.

Simply put... IMHO, regardless of who wins, very little good will come from it. I'm just voting for less of the bad.

If I actually thought that Al Gore could reform our schools, I might vote for him. If I thought GW was going to make us all wealthy investors of our own Social Security money, I'd vote for him.

Very little will come from the promises of either party. But there's less chance of taking one more step toward the loss of my hobby if GW is in office. I fear no president, I fear Dianne Frankenstien :)

If you want handgun ownership abolished (except for a selected few), then vote for Gore.
If you want to register your long guns and pay a tax on ownership, then vote for Gore. If you like to pay taxes, then vote for Gore. He thinks he knows how to spend your money better than you do. And, BTW, I don't believe he would pay off the national debt. There are not many in Washington who would like to go through the pain of doing that.

I cannot exactly put my finger on why it will happen, I am sure that Gore will win this election. Although my vote is for GW and all my friends are voting the same way I just see that in a close race like this it will go to the Dems. Please tell me I am wrong.

You have to be there when it's all over. Otherwise you can't say "I told you so."

My only thought on the subject of the election right now is: IF Gore wins in a very close race, and IF this is because the state of Colorado went for Gore rather than Bush due to a strong Harry Browne/Libertarian vote, then I not so sure how much the membership will still love our own ScaryBaldGuy/Coinneach (whom we DO love), as I understand he is out campaigning vigorously for the Libs. I won't fault him personally - he's acting on his conscience - but I couldn't blame those who would.

G-1911,
I felt the same way as you up to about a month ago. I would have bet a weeks pay that Gore was going to win, but now I think that Bush has a better than even chance of winning next tuesday. This had nothing to do with the polls. I changed my mind because of voter interest and enthusiasm. Republicans across the country can't wait for the polls to open. Democrats, well, how could even a rabid Klintonista actually get EXCITED about voting for Al Bore?

Let me just add one thought to that, esp. is SBG is lurking - I heard there is a website called "Nader-Trader.com", where people in New York, for example, which is solidly pro-Gore, who would otherwise have voted for Gore, can get on the website and hook up with someone from say, Wisconsin or Minnesota or Oregon, who WANTS to vote for Nader, and then "trade" their votes - the New Yorker votes for Nader to help him get 5% of the popular, and the person in the swing state votes for Gore without giving up their conscience, so that their swing state doesn't go to Bush.

SO, SBG (and others), let's do it, too! - IF you have some buddies in Colo. whom you've convinced to vote for Browne, have them come to TFL and trade with someone from a state like mine (OK) that is going to solidly be for Bush no matter what. I will then vote Lib, and my etradermate can vote Bush. So, can someone tell me, Is Colo or any other state, in real danger of going to Gore because of Libertarians?

I would vote for a retarded groundhog before I'd vote for that Socialist bastard Gore. Although I don't believe that GW is all that much better, to me it's a no-brainer. If we value our freedom, Gore must not win.

You're wrong. Bush landslide electoral college win.

DAGNY,
I agree. Though I have already voted for GWB I was sorely tempted to vote for Al Gore. Then we could all just get "RREEAADDDYY TOOO RRRUUUMMMMBBBBLLLEEEEE!!!!"

GWB will SLOWLY take our freedoms away. Al Gore would take them away MUCH QUICKER. Have we all forgot GWB's daddy who said "no new taxes" and then gave us the largest tax increase of the time. Or the fact that GB SR was the first president to loudly, happily and almost excitedly exclaim that we are heading towards a New World Order? And then he also gave us "THE ASSUALT WEAPONS BAN"??? How short the countries memory, especially gun owners is. And don't forget, the apple don't fall far from the tree!!! So be prepared in the coming four years to feel completely betrayed by GWB!!! Don't say I didn't warn you!!!
