Anybody getting extremely frustrated ammo hunting?

If you want to find where some of your local Wally World ammo went to just check out GunBroker. Seems to be a lot of the 9mm Value Packs on there with a lot of seller with no or minimal feedbacks. Most of it seemed to be priced twice as much as in the store, can't fault them for trying to make a buck, just hoping I can get my hands on some more ammo for plinking this summer.

Watch out for shipping costs. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=127123032

Went to the local Cabela's yesterday and was stunned to see their entire pistol ammo rack was all but empty. Managed to get 100 rds of 9mm and a box of 20 of those new Winchester Bonded +Ps for my .38 car gun. I ordered 500 rds of Fiocchi 9mm from ammoman today for $150 delivered, which is pretty much what I paid at Cabela's, except no tax and no shipping ... things are getting worse, not better, at least where I shop.

Damn,... I guess that's a good deal now'a days!

And to think I paid $87.50 about a year ago for that stuff (150), I'm glad I stocked stocked up.

PS: it was 115g FMJ

With a little patience, and determination, it will pay off! For the last 3 months, I have made visits between 3 Academy Sporting Goods Stores and 4 Wal-Mart Stores making about 6+ visits a week on random days... I have been successful 3 days, but my last purchase was a nice one!

I saw 21 boxes of the Winchester 9mm 100 box! My eyes lit up at the amount of boxes available... I have never seen so many boxes since before the campaigning of the 2008 election.

I happily bought 5 boxes..

Be extra nice to these people that run the sporting goods dept. It could be the difference between their willingness to make an extra check or even additional comments on what else is available, or a simple head shake for a no-go.

Here in Northern Virginia finding 9mm seems to be a case of feast or famine. Wal*Mart hasn't had anything locally the few times that I've tried there, granted I've only tried 3 - 4 times in a month. I was able to pick-up a few boxes of Speer at the local range for about $10 a box. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to find some quality 9mm at an Expo center next weekend.

At a shop in West Virginia 3 weeks ago I was limited to 2 boxes. Supply and demand is taking quite a toll.

Found some Winchester Hornet 22LR 333 packs at Walmart tonight, but the cleck left early.

I was not happy, I can kiss those good-bye unless, I stay sober tonight and go back in the morning. I guess I don't need them that bad!:D

Wally World had 1 box of .44 mag left-that's it.

Drove north to LE supply shop/range and found last 2 boxes of 10mm around. Owner told me that last week he had 2 guys come in and want to buy out his entire ammo stock-$30,000 worth. Put a high limit on em, $1000 and sent em on their way. He told them local customers have a need too. To shoot.

This is bonkers.
