Just curious if anyone avoided the wife and splurged into the budget this weekend.

I picked up a Taurus Model 85 Ultra Lite

Its pretty nice.. but the workmanship sure don't beat those old Smith's.. :( *sigh*

I am not married! So I dont have to "Get the Wifes Permission" to buy anything, no sneaking around, just spend my money on whatever I want. Well mostly :p Just have to take my girl out sometimes, haha!

Well, my wife was hosting a baby shower for a friend so it seemed like a good time to get out of the house and visit the gun show in Richardson (TX).

Found me a nice new Glock 30 with night sights.

KaMaKaZe, great little gun, isn't it? Did you get the one with the concealed hammer?

Not lately, but here in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts, gun sales have hit a record high. As Knox has already reported, the Clintonians are "the best friends the gun industry has ever had." Since AG Reilly banned the sale of handguns manufactured since 1998, sales of everything else have set records. Law of Unintended Consequences -- people will make sure they get whatever is being banned. People with old guns in drawers, hearing about the demand for used guns, have trucked on down to the local gun shop. The number of guns sold in MA since the "ban" is estimated to now have exceeded 300,000. Reilly has single-handedly put an additional 300,000 guns on the street. What
a dumb bastard. I LOVE it!

"On the street" - I don't like that term; but whatever.

Realistically, how much more dangerous are you with 1 gun vs. the 50 in your safe?

Most gun buyers who would buy on such a whim have a bunch already - as the media are starting to point out, those that own most of the guns are a small minority (e.g. easier to screw).

Battler.

Last week, a Browning Buck Mark .22, adj. open sights, blued, laminated wood grips, 5.5" barrel. "For the children," ;) and the child in me.

Ledbetter

My apologies for not buying one this week, although I did buy one last week and one the week before. :D

My one per month quota is unharmed since I caught up!

Oh, to get meself back on topic, I got a 5.5" 22 Ruger myself :)

THIS weekend I'm going to try to get ahead :)

I spent the weekend at a show with my knives and brought back a new Colt MT6700 and TC Hawken. And this to the CZ52 Tok. a few days earlier and I've obtained poverty.
Of course, There were a few thousand rounds of ammo that were needed too.
I truly can't help it.

A Remington mod 521-T followed me home Saturday. It's like new. I love it. Really. It's the real thing this time. :D

Can anyone tell me where I can dig up some on-line information on this rifle?

Friends, forgive me, for I have not bought a firearm in three weeks. Oh my shame! Oh my guilt! I am willing to purchase a pre-ban AR this weekend to ease my sufferings.

Or should it be two AR's?

Or one 1911 and an AR?

Oh what to do! (Well I better ask my checkbook first.)

Naw, I got this one:

Its the one at the top of the page for the first link I posted. Just a plain-jane Model 85 with an aluminum frame, stainless barrel, cylinder, working parts. I wanted to get one with a bobbed hammer, but I decided against it. I didn't want a ported barrel (hard to find one that isn't these days) because I don't care for them. Sided with a hammer because the GF likes to shoot revolvers single-action. So.. I compromised. :( However, I got it dirt cheap.. IMO, $259! I couldn't pass that up!

How do you like that CZ-75? I picked up an EAA Witness 9mm PS last December and love it. I hear its pretty much a knock-off of the CZ-75 so that you could even exchange the magazines. Its been my primary concealed-carry ever since I got it.. even though its full-sized. Only problem I have with it is that it doesn't chamber most factory hollow points very well. :( Well, I should clarify that.. the pre-ban hi-cap magazine doesn't like hollow points, so I just stick with the 10rnd mags.. Other than that its a totally reliable gun. Hows yours, and how much did you part with?

Sounds like the price was right. I'm not to fond of ported barrels myself as they can have things flying in your face if you shoot it from an off angle but I already have the model that you just got (own the stainless steel version) and wanted one with a concealed hammer for deep carry and all of those come ported :( but the ports do help reduce muzzle flip on such a small & light gun. Regards, FUD.
