Annual check up question; "Do you have firearms at home"?

....I don't agree that we have a "public health issue" and I don't regard isolated incidents as "outbreaks."

I think we have a public issue, and maybe a public health issue. But the issue is that we train our children to a culture of violence without responsibility.

Anyone remember Grand Theft Auto?

Some kids have practiced shooting a billion times on at high quality simulator. With no sense of consequence.

This isn't the whole picture I know. But its a part of it. And its a real part. We need to stop raising kids in a culture of violence without consequence.

Apparently there are some doctors asking this of children when the parents are not present. If the parent will not allow the doctor "privacy" then they get upset and in at least one anecdote somewhat abusive to the parent.

My response for cases where the doctor won't allow parental attendance is to turn them in to child services (or what ever your local child abuse watch dog organization may be).

I strongly suspect the doctor will say they need the privacy to ask about potential abuse activities but they are going way beyond that.

these type questions are appearing everywhere its not for your insurance company and its not for some gun safety conversation. it is being collected and placed on a database some where...wounder which department is handling that task...the department of education sixteen different division's:eek:
