Annealing brass

Not sure I will ever know if this does any good or is worth the investment in time....but annealing is another fun part of the hobby.

Wow! We have at least 7 pages of annealing in the last 2 months and never once has anyone explained the need for annealing? Or explained why it is necessary? I am a case former, there was a time when I thought nothing of necking 200 30/06 cases up to 35 Whelen. Problem; when necking up 30/06 cases to 35 Whelen the case shortens .035". etc. etc. meaning there is more to this boring story that has no value to most reloaders.

Not sure I will ever know if this does any good

There is no excuse for that, the first thing I want to know is the results.
The first thing I want to know is the part about being necessary and then there is that part that determines if it can be done.
