Hey ther ARtech....

Try NAVY ARMS , In Ridgefield, NJ. They have a web site, and they carry several versions of the Brown Bess, and it is considered a very excellent reproduction.
Hell, Val Forgett started the hole thing anyhoot.!
And besides that's were I bought my Bushmaster.....So maybee they will do a special deal for you.
I live near by , and if you would like me to inspect a particular weapon for fit and finish...it would be my pleasure.
Don't hesitate to E-Mail me, then we can talk on phone.

Slabsides - I've heard the remark. How applicable it is. For myself, I bought a Tibetan fire starter kit. It's a leather pouch to with a bar of steel riveted to it. The pouch is used to store their indigenous white stone and tinder. Couldn't find the stone (didn't leave Llasha while I was there) but am sure I could substitue a good piece of flint.
