I was at wal mart last night in lewis county tn and had no 9mm a butt load of 40 cal 3 boxex of 25 cal alot of 32 no 38 no 45 no 380 and one box of 100 rnds of 357 mag and one box of 44 mag that was it for hand gun ammo

Nice going! That figures to $235 for a case. I've been watching a couple online auction sites, and can't match that. $235 is exactly what a case of WWB (ten 100-rd boxes) would cost out the door at local Walmart. Problem is they are out. Local Meijer sells the 50-rd box of WWB for $13.88 total...

Anyone wondering what this "Palmetto" is...

here's the link:

I ordered 3,000 rounds of Winchester 9mm Luger from them on Saturday. It was $115 per 500, or $230 per 1000. On 3000 rounds, they charged $48 shipping; it was less for fewer boxes. On the phone, they said they were out of the American Eagle 9mm, though the website still showed it. If you want some of this, get it now! ;)

I haven't had any issues finding ammo. It takes some work but I never come close to running out.

In the morning there are 5 places I call on the way to work. I don't call every day.

I look online once or twice a week just to see what I can find. Do a search on here for online dealers and you will get a pretty good list going. There are many places you can buy 9mm ammo for under $12 per 50........... heck you can even get that from cabelas or bass pro. Sometimes you just have to plan ahead to compensate for back orders etc.

TDS-US (Tactical Defense Solutions) --

Just ordered 1500 rounds of PMC Bronze @ $11 a box... charged $23 shipping. Meh. I've used this brand once or twice before. I don't recall much positive or negative about it.

This ammo was received within 5 days of order placement. I'll be adding TDS to my future 'go to guys' list for bulk ammo.

In other updates, Palmetto Armory has no 45 ACP ammo, and now lists the ammo I ordered (3000 rds of) a week ago as out of stock. They do list 124gr 9mm American Eagle in 1000rd cases as available (@ $226).

>>Bass Pro shop near me had a whole mountain of Remington fmj 115 gr 9mm when I was there on Monday. I'm guessing it was at least a 2,000 round display.

I live a mile from this Bass Pro, they were COMPLETELY cleaned out of handgun ammo when I stopped by there last night; except for ~10 boxes of .380. It's comical watching the panicked first time gun buyers hovering around the counter trying to purchase a hand gun - or maybe I should rephrase that as "scary".

Three weeks ago I picked up 1,000 rounds of Lake City .45 APC at a gun show for $13 a box. I'm thinking I should have bought a third case...

Someone mentioned Blazer Brass in 9mm. I've found it to be very filthy to load into magazines, lots of gooey lubrication on the bullet head.

My order from Palmetto State Armory (500 rounds of 9's) just got on my doorsteps yesterday:). I only shoot 9's with my XD and Bersa Firestorm and 45 LC's for my three revolvers. I now already have 1000 rounds of 9mm fmj and 200 roungs of 9 HP. Now on my 45 LC inventory, I only used Remington express 45 LC, anybody knows where to get a good deal on this rounds ?

My Palmetto order also arrived in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, they too are now just about out of everything 9mm and ARE out of everything 45ACP. 45ACP is my new bogey.

I am about to purchase a few new firearms this month, was thinking .45 ACP and maybe 9x19, what is the situation with .38 Super and 10mm (practice ball to top grade JHP)? I mean it's not like there will never be 9mm available anymore, but maybe the more exotic cartridges are in better supply right now? Tokarev surplus still cheap/available?

I know I'll be needing a lot of .22LR, .223, .308, and 12 gauge on top of handgun ammo.

There's a big shortage here in SW Colorado too, and I just bought a Beretta 92FS.

Still, after looking in every place I could think of I went to Big 5 which doesn't even carry any handguns and only a few rifles and shotguns.

They had practically a full shelf of pistol ammo including 9mm which has gotten rare lately.

Of course, it was way overpriced (16.99 for all major target rounds) I bought a couple boxes because I lacked another option but at least there's one place to find it if the factories don't catch up soon. (And people stop panicking.)

If you go to wally world and ask theyll tell you when they will get more and then you go in early and buy it.I went and bought the whole case before they got it on the shelf for $200 per 1000 win white box

"If you go to wally world and ask theyll tell you when they will get more and then you go in early and buy it.I went and bought the whole case before they got it on the shelf for $200 per 1000 win white box"

So you're the reason the rest of us can't find ammo. ;)

Update:
Supplies now seem worse than ever.

It looks like Cabela's is the only one that has anything in stock and/or is allowing for backorders. (in either 9mm or 45 ACP)

If anyone has found a nook & cranny that has bulk 45 ACP, I'd love to hear about it.
