Ammo -- 9mm -- gone gone gone (ONLINE BULK)

I've been buying ammo online in decent quantities. [I know Walmarts are all the rage on here, but I prefer to buy in QTY and my Walmart doesn't ever carry ammo anyway.]

After this past weekend at the range (and hearing THEY were running low, even at overpriced prices), I went online.

There is NOTHING out there in 9mm...

[Natchez and MidwayUSA give you IN or OUT of stock without having to click on each box first.]

www.natchezss.com 9mm -- no backorder feature, notification system

MidwayUSA 9mm -- not allowing backorders currently

The-Armory 9mm -- difficult site; doesn't show in/out of stock until you try to add to cart; no backorder system

Cabelas 9mm -- allows backorders on most products (locking in your price)

All of these guys have had at least SOMETHING up until very recently. [The same lack of availability is true for 45 ACP as well, and I'm sure it applies to others...]

Someone tell me there is SOMEWHERE I can still get a 500 or 1000 round lot of 9mm online at a reasonable price... pllllleeeasssse.....

Georgia Arms -- straight from their own site, dated 2/10/2009:
Due to a huge increase in demand, our shipping times have been delayed 5-7 weeks on all orders.

DoubleTap -- has ammo (no in or out of stock to the extent I perused) but near as I can tell, it is all premium priced stuff and I only see 9mm in +P.

Next!

I'm looking mostly for range ammo... I could use 1000+ rds of FMJ, I don't need to have that much hollowpoint or +P style stuff. [I have a few hundred rounds of Golden Sabers in 9mm & 45ACP that I (thankfully) acquired before things went nutty.]

TDS-US (Tactical Defense Solutions) -- under target ammo, most everything is UNAVAILABLE

Ammoman -- website says (you must click thru, link is not direct):
regarding 9mm Luger --
THIS CALIBER IS CURRENTLY SOLD OUT OF PRODUCT FOR NOW
BUT PLEASE CHECK BACK AT A LATER DATE.. (Ammoman)
The WHOLE FRICKIN caliber is out of stock at ammoman... next!

We are running about 9-12 business days behind on orders due to the volume of orders that are coming in. Please be patient we are working as hard as we can.

We are trying our best to make sure that all orders are being fullfilled in its entirety but we are experiencing product shortages that may result in backorders or refunds. We will notify you as soon as it becomes an issue with your order. (AmmunitionToGo)

-- Think we may have a winner, though I'm concerned about the 9-12 day notice on the website. This may be more of a backorder, cross your fingers type dealio than a 'we have it, come get it' setup. **** EDIT **** went back today (+1 day to orig post) and American Eagle 9mm doesn't even show up anymore on their site! It's ... gone! ***

I just got done loading 300 9mm rounds. Took me 2 hours and cost about $27, and I have material to make about 5,000 more. :)

9mm plenty of it

collins cartridge in conroe texas, 115 gr and 124 gr at reasonable price $100./500 or $200/1000 .

I'm mostly interested in recognizeable name brand loads that aren't banned at my range. Remington, Federal American Eagle, and Winchester come to mind.

Collins Cartridge
We are still 10-20 days behind on shipping but have caught up with most of the back logged orders (Collins Cartridge)

Sometimes these notices make me wonder if they aren't just saying that they're out of stock and if you wait 20-40 days (I always double the expected times), maybe we'll get to you.

[I'm STILL waiting for S&W 500 bulk ammo I ordered from Cabela's in Dec 2008... they stopped taking backorders on it and don't even offer it online anymore... Cabela's even had me call to confirm I still wanted to wait, since so much time has passed (every "Expected" arrival date has been moved out a week at a time... endlessly)]

AND the prices at Collins are awful -- nearly $0.29 per round for Winchester FMJ's (which are out of stock anyway), pre shipping, maybe in 10-20 days? Next!

2 weeks ago i bought 3 boxes of ammo from ammunitionto and 3 boxes from tds-us.com yes all the ammo got was jhp but both were shipped and recieved within 8 days.I am pleased with both. Now if i want range ammo then i go to walmart,a box of ammo for only costs $11.28 a box of 50 rounds and thats for my .40 cal,for my 9mm i only pay 9.34 a box of 50 rounds

Sportsman's Guide seems to have some decent prices on SOME of their ammo.

Does anyone know what shipping charges are like with them?

I have made two purchases from Ammunition to Go recently and have had my order shipped out within three days each time, despite their warnings of delay. These were smaller orders of HD ammo, so I can't guarantee you will have the same experience.

snicker.....

Maybe all those posts telling new shooters to get a 9mm because ammo was cheap have finally come home to roost!:D

We are still in a shooting war, 9mm is the service cartidge. And Obamamania has had everybody and their Uncle Max who ever thought they might want/need a gun buying up eveything in sight for months. Driving up prices and driving availability down.

This will continue until the factories catch up with the demand, and then after a while, they will be selling it cheap (relatively) again, unless the doom and gloom predictions actually start coming true.

I've got a couple thousand rounds put by, and a couple thousand more in components, and I just don't shoot all that much lately, so I'm just going to wait a bit before I panic.

No doubt. Remind me to start talking up the .25 ACP or something along those lines!

They ship by UPS Ground. My last order was for 1000 of 9mm. It weighed in at nearly 30 lbs and the shipping cost $12.49. They are in Minnesota and I am in Missouri. You can go to ups.com and get a rough idea what it would cost to ship from 55075 (their zip code) to yours. You also have to add the surcharge for residential delivery.

I am also a member of their buyers club and I get a break on shipping in addition to getting lower prices. This was quite a savings since the UPS site calculated the shipping at over $22.00!

Hope this helps!

Scott
