I watched a repeat of the episode with the Rancher selling his Winchester lever action rifle collection...And I must say, again I did enjoy it.
Compaired to what was on the other channels....Hey, if it concerns guns, and interesting visuals I'll watch it.

I do believe from what I have read on other post....Bottom line - This show does bring out the Envie, and Jelousey in most veteran gun owning enthusiast.

I was going to disagree with this comment. But then they went and bought 42 guns out of that guys collection. Must admit I am bit jealous of his collection.:o

Bah dont keep secrets SLOMountaineer lol

Think I'll give the show one more chance, I do agree with most on here about the positive affect of having more shows relating to guns, but I don't want this guy to come off even shadier on subsequent episodes. May be a real turn off for some prospective gun owners.

Can't stand it any more. This guy spends have the show plopping down 50k here and 30k there for some collection...and the whole thing is so scripted...it is akmost like they have memorized their lines. Don't like it at all.

The 15 grand pistol and the stupid question about the BAR I was like come on now. I m glad they are putting guns into a good light but they could do more to make it realistic.

I would like to remind folks that we run a strict family site.

If one doesn't like that - please leave.

One does not have to be banned to do that. In fact, asking to be banned is just a touch of an ego trip. Look at me! Look at me!

If it's about guns, I'll watch it. It's better than watching another car repo show or who dunnit shows with the wife :)

The one last night just about did it for me. The squabble over the pink 1911, the juvenile giggling among the 'gunsmiths' while they were
finishing the gun. And, most of all, I must be living in an alternative universe. I antagonized a week before dropping $400
for a Mossberg at Walmart and this guy waltzes in and buys a $12,000 gun in less than two minutes. I don't even remember him handling the weapon. I know...! It's the editing process. Still…..

The squabble over the pink 1911,

I thought that was over the top also, if a pink 1911 makes her happy what is the big deal. One or two of the guys said they had never even seen a pink gun. How is that possible? There are pink guns of every type in almost every store I go into. Trust me I know, because my daughter wants all of the pink and lime green ones we come across.

Green Mountain Guns is a MUCH better Denver area gun store; prices are regularly with $50 of buds and impact guns. Should have done a show about them; could have found out what happened to the dudes fingers...

On a rare occasion I could see someone waltzing in there and buying a gun for 12000 but they seem to portray it as all gun owners can fork out that much cash. the part of the little guy is thrown out the window you don't see many little guys doing the small purchases all we see is them throwing 10, grand here 50 grand there the gal with the 1911 may have been the smallest purchase we seen yet. In all reality how many times do we see someone throw that kind of cash around. Not your average people have that laying around

Anyone think some of these sales (in store more so than when he gets on his lil whirly bird) are done just for the show and don't really occur? Still not sold on the biker buying all three of those guns, maybe he was pressured with the cameras being there or by the daughter (can't see how rich lets her wear what she does esp on natl tv, poor taste in my book). Hopefully discovery channel gets enough negative response about this show but get enough attention to realize the market for a good show on guns and a gun store is out there.

I like that fact there is another television show about firearms. But, AMERICAN GUNS gives the general viewing public the impression that guns are very expensive.
This is mis-leading.
Example - They should show the selling of a Glock, or a Kel-Tec pocket pistol. How about a nice affordable Bersa Thunder?
And have the sales person explaining the design and caliber of the gun. Instead of the daughter just telling a customer "OH ya, That gun looks good in your hand".
I am shure they could receive corporate support from a brand name company. Just for promoting a gun or product.

Maybe with a trial and error, the show will change it's concept.

You're assuming they sell those. Glocks probably, but certainly not Kel-Tecs or Bersas. I've been there; mostly Sigs, HKs, Glocks, Smiths, Colts, Walthers, etc.

Folks, it's TV... Bear that in mind.

I'm sure that some parts are scripted and/or staged, after all, it's TV.

I'm sure that they sell a fair amount of "cheap" (meaning, normal priced) guns. But let's be honest, a guy buying a G23 for $500 isn't exactly noteworthy to a producer, and after all, it's TV.

I think a lot of us are quick to jump the gun when it comes to TV shows about guns. If every single bit of the show isn't 100% correct, we immediately call for a crucifixion because it's misleading. When was the last time anything on TV was truly, 100% correct? After all, it's TV...

Sure, I'm with you, I understand that being somewhat misleading in the interest of ratings and drama does not serve the RKBA community well. However, the producer is interested in ratings. After all, it's TV.

It's a show about guns folks, we get to look at purty guns for an hour on TV. It's not going to be done the way we would do it until one of us owns a network TV channel... After all, it's TV.
