O-ver-priced! Really? $15000 for a custom single action revolver? Gimme a break! And on a ministers salary to boot! Fantasy land must be great for the delirious!

Well the way I see it. I'd rather watch a TV show about guns anytime.
More the Merry.
Good old Gunney Serg. R Lee Ermey is back with his one hour LOCK N LOAD show.....Awesome.

Just watched my first and last episode... the one where he doesn't recognize a BAR.
A $15,000.00 SAA made in-house? Gimme a break. That minister's collection plate must be a 50 gallon drum.
Dumb drama, and an insult to any machinist. Staged and thick.
Whadda maroon.

2. This is a family site. Discussion of the female participants in a salicious way well be to your detriment.

I guess some of you can't read. If you get back to the gun content, the thread can continue.

If you post stupid things about the women, etc - the thread closes and you will not be well served.

I think this show is just going over the top. Discovery is turning themselves into the next Tru TV. Next thing you know there will be tons of shows about fake repo companies. What happened to the good old days where if you wanted fake drama you could just watch Jerry Springer?

Its a terrible show,,,

It's not designed to promote anything about guns and ownership.

It's designed to exploit the hunger the American public has for reality schlock.

I've sent my letter of displeasure to the Discovery Channel,,,
This type of show only promotes the idea that gun aficionados are all redneck jerks.

Might as well invite Kim Kardashian and Snookie in for an episode or two.

Aarond

Redneck jerks that fly around in helicopters?

I haven't seen a real super hick yet other then the dude plunking down 2k for that gold plated Desert Eagle.

Anything that promotes gun ownership is good and drives up the price of the gun you currently own, especially when the dweebs jump in because gun owner is now cool because it's on t.v.

Didn't like it. Too many smirky, ain't I smart, moments. Not enough gun stuff.

This show makes "Locked and Loaded" seem like serious educational programing.

Here's what I want in a tv gun show.
1 Pretty pictures of guns.
2 Whiz-bang computer graphics showing how the gun is/was made and how it operates.
3 A brief history of the gun and fun facts.
4 film of someone having fun shooting the gun in an entertaining manner.

I don't think that's too much to ask.

I was sort of stunned when a recent show(might have been this one but I think it was sons of gun or the other one//sorry//) claimed a very old revolver was non-workable because they pulled the trigger and the pin failed to fire the round. My problem was that they tried one more time and I could've already told them it wasn't going to work. Hands down if they had just rotated the round or switched that round to the second slot and put the round from the second slot in that one, it would've fired

Do a google search on Rich Wyatt, Jefferson County, CO. Most of us in CO know all too well about Gunsmoke.

Interesting read ... thanks!
I've watched a couple shows and really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get into it. Even with as little as I know about gunsmithing, even I appeared to be more knowledgable than his "gunsmiths". Rich acts like an arse and his wife is totally overbearing. Poor acting, non-educational, and very little entertainmnet value, IMO.

I watch the rerun on Tuesday nights as a lead in to Top Shot(which repeats back to back.) Since next week is the finale of Top Shot, I doubt I'll be watching American Guns after that unless next week's American Guns episode is much better than the two I've seen so far.

Tom Martino is a consumer advocate in Denver and he had an on-air "discussion" in 2009 with Wyatt over two days. I will let everyone make their own mind up on him. Here in CO he is well known and his "reputation", shall we say, precedes him.

As for what those here in CO think of him, Gunsmoke, his show, and RMGOs affiliation with him it is covered thoroughly at the Colorado AR-15 Shooters forum HERE

Most of us gun folks in the Denver area have heard enough about Gunsmoke and Rich Wyatt that we all stay clear of the place. NOT exactly a great reputation locally, to say the least.

It's kind of interesting that a trend towards shows like this is occasionally the beginning of the end of a particular niche business model. Too much exposure of any counterculture causes a rush of folks not qualified to capitalize, and shortly after...the small market crashes for being full of non-substantial folks. Some things work best with a small group of enthusiasts, and they don't fare well with the light of the mainstream.

Tattoos, motorcycles, house flipping, etc. All recent crashed trends, to some degree. You can imagine the inbound current rush of folks that might be happening in the "picking" and "firearm" fields. Maybe guns are different, hope so.
