Am I The Only Person NOT Carrying a Sig P239 in .357 Sig ??

It seems that "everyone" (glib local gun store statement recently) is now packing the neat little P239 in the hot .357 Sig caliber these days. While this is plainly an exaggeration, just how many of you have switched to this gun/caliber combo ??

Regards,

Mike H

Well, I'm not. First, the P239 isn't very little. I know, because I have one in .40S&W. I carry my Kahr K40, which is much smaller. Second, I prefer DAO over DA/SA (yes, that's a religious issue). Third, .357Sig ammo is significantly more expensive than .40S&W.

I'm not criticizing the P239. It's a fine, accurate gun. But there are other guns in similar calibers which are much more size efficient (e.g., Kahr K40, Glock 27, etc.).

So I think the folks at that gun store are blowing smoke.

Nope, I don't own the gun. :-) I have several carry pistols, the Keltec P11, my Colt Mustang Pocketlite, and a pair of .32's, the Guardian and the Keltec. No Sig in sight. :-)

6 feet 200lbs male. I carry a Glock 19, and a Para-Ordnance P13 IWB quite comfortably. Though I am switching to G26

Walk softly and carry a big stick (Yeah I know I stole it)

Well I hate to go against the grain but, I have a p239 in .357sig, and switch off between that and my usp .40c. Like both of them in IWB holster.

not really, I just traded my P239 for a P228
seems that the 228 fits my hand much better
and, when loaded with the Hornady 124gr XTP's
it's a very accurate hard hitting pistol.

My P239 is in .40, considering a Kahr in 9mm as well. The .357 Sig is still too expensive and supply of practice ammo isn't readily available yet.

Think!

Well not me. I carry a Sig P220 in 45ACP, can't beat the big bullet. I carry each and every day, it goes on after the shower comes off to the night stand at bed time.

Yes and no. Variety being the spice of life. Switching between my Ultra elite and Sig. Haven't found the holster for the sig yet.

The 239 in 357 SIG is just one of the pistols I carry. It's my motorcycle gun, I also have a car gun (Sigma 357V), a bedside gun (Sig 229 357SIG), a camping gun (Glock 20) and a carry gun (Glock 26)! I practise with all of them, and shoot them equally well. Actually I shoot the Sigma better than any of them, the grip just fits my hand very well.

I don't have time for busy people

Not me.

It's an interesting concept, but I'm not all that hot to go out and get one.

I have all the .357s I need with my S&W revolvers. --Mike

NO you are not I carry a sigma sw9m

My bulldog was ran over by a car last week therefore I joined AUTOMOBILE CONTROL INC. those damn cars should be taken off the street

Nope. Usually one of my KelTec pistols.
P-32 or P-11

Knock twice. Rap with your cane. Feels nice. You're out of the rain. We got your skinny girls. Here at the Western World

In Georgia, I carried a Kimber Pro Elite.

I have moved to Tennessee now and am waiting my permit (I have to have a permit to exercise my Constitutional rights?!?). When it is in hand, I will carry a Glock 29 unless I cannot get the reliability problems fixed, otherwise I'll go back to the Kimber or my Glock 19.

I owned three Sigs before I decided I don't care for SA/DA autos. No comment on the .357 Sig caliber.

.357 Sig may be okay, but I do not like DA/SA transition, the round does not do anything I can not do with a hot 9mm and since I handload to reduce my practice expenses, I am not about to go thru lubing pistol brass. I am happy with 38/357, 9mm, 45ACP and 45 Colt ammo and the platforms that launch them. Flame away, but IMHO the .357 Sig is of true benefit only to the vendors of ammo and arms, i.e. an answer to a question only the Marketing Department would advance.

i don't carry. if i did it wouldn't be a 239. its size to firepower ratio is way off from what i'd like. i don't know the exact specifications but i bet my Glock 19 weighs less than it does and is about the same size. thats 15 rounds compared to 7. also with 124gr+P gold dots i'm fine with 9mm.
