All the ammo in Wal Mart, Academy, etc. is gone.

We all wish they would have more in stock. If the have the tags on the shelf lets not fault them for not being able to keep actual supplies of ammunition on the shelves. Hardly anyone can these days and I understand local shops are picking them clean pretty regularly. I don't blame or even find fault with the local shops, just saying I have heard that is happening. Not too much walmart can do about it.
May not make anyone feel any better, but my understanding is wal-mart has ammo in their warehouses but has been told it will be weeks/months until it is replenished so they are rationing it to stores in the mean time. I have heard that from a local gun shop owner and also independently from an employee at wal-mart. Think what prices would be like if they were not doing that.

The two Wal-marts I go to regular here in Fl. all seem to have .40 in WWB and nothing else. Guess I should have got a .40 instead of the 9MM:)

Do any of you go to the sporting section of your walmart and walk away thinking 'that was a great transaction. I should come back more often."

Yeah, pretty much every time I go to WM I buy a box or two of the Federal 550-round bulk packs. As long as they have that, I'm happy. I can reload just about any other caliber I plan to shoot.

I finally found some .380 auto at Walmart tonight. The counter guy said that people have been coming in and cleaning out their ammo as soon as deliveries come in. Says he's been seeing the same people come in and buy it by the case within hours of receiving it.

It's rough out there.

Holy crap...no ammo anywhere!

I'm not in a panic or anything as I feel adequately stocked. But I'm always shopping online for some sort of deal or other. I have about 3 or 4 online sites I like to order from. I'd like to keep my supply current, as in, replacing what I shoot.

Nobody has virtually ANY ammo in stock. I mean NONE.

I shoot .22LR, 9mm, .38 spl, .357 magnum, .45 ACP and .223/5.56

I can't find ANY!! Impressive.

Thats why I started "stockpiling " early. Way way before the election. I also invested in reloading equipment. My wife called me crazy and told me not to waste "our" money. Now the same ammo is much more expensive than when i bought it. If you can find it. I was finally right about something in my house.

Another "All the ammo's gone" thread merged.

Jesus. The first post in this thread is Jan 20, 2009. They just keep coming. I'll just keep adding them on to this one.

Let's see how big it gets. ... where's that shaking-my-head smiley?

Do you guys ever look to see if your breaking news has been posted yet?

Yesterday, Cabela's had lots of ammo. They must have had Harry Potter cast a magic spell to shield them from the UN.

Prices could be better but what else is new. If I wanted a 1000 223s or 9mms, they were on the shelf.

I know I picked up 100rnds of 380 at walmart the other day.
There was a 100rnd pack of .45ACP left, too.

They are still getting stuff in, including primers. Selling pretty quick, but if I go in the night of the day they stock, I can get pretty much anything I need.
That is, if I really needed something at the moment...

.380 Shortage

So you guys can't get .380 ACP? I walked into a local range/gun shop and asked if they had any .380. Their reply - "Sure, we have plenty, now much do you want?" I bought a case. Magtech FMJ. BTW, most of our local shops still have "carry" .380 JHP in stock.

You bought a case, not a box or two? Well there you go, next guy will come in and there won't be any, and he will write a panic stricken posting about everyone being sold out of .380. That is how it is happening! If everyones fears don't pan out, I foresee a time when alot of people are gonna be dragging crates full of ammo to gun shows trying to sell it and taking a loss, maybe.

Sorry to disappoint you, Tom, but I don't sell ammo and I don't hoard it. I shoot it at the practice range. The employee at the gun shop said, "I have plenty", so I don't think I bought him out. Why did I buy a whole case? It's called "free enterprise". Ya know - open market. Supply and demand?

Get there the fustest with the mostest.

It's really NOYB, but I have 5 .380 pistols, and a friend who wanted some .380, too.

I've seen 3 boxes of .380 around here in the past 4 months. It was at a gun show last month. One table had two 25rnd boxes of Hornady Crititcal Defense for $30 each and another table had one 50rnd box of Wolf for $30. I bought the two boxes of Hornady though, since I've been down to my last seven rounds (the mag I carry in it) of PD ammo for a couple months. Acadamy, Gander Mountain, all the little gun shops, Walmart....no one has any .380 up here. I've gotten to the point where I'm about to just put the LCP away in the safe. :(

If I walked into a place that said they had plenty, I would have bought a case myself.

It's not just .380 it's all pistol ammo 9MM,44Mag,45acp and .45 colt. about the only I see available is .40 and I DON'T have a .40:mad: Can't even find .22LR:eek:
