Abomination or cool?

Looks kinda cool, though single action revolvers aren't my style. I may have to do something like that if and when my vision starts to fade. Do you have a holster for it?

As a matter of fact I do. A very nice El Paso holster, which no longer fits. :(

This is what my 25-2 looked like when it came home.

They actually drilled and tapped the receiver and slammed a Contender rail on the frame.
The sharp eyed guy will find the glow in the dark dot stuck on the front sight. Kinda useless when you trash the rear sight.

I took my open sights off when I mounted my scope. I'm looking a proving a point to some folks about 45 colt vs some pigs at distance in a handgun. I can put it back to the way I got it in 5 minutes if needed.

In the end, it's your gun and that's all that matters.

I love single actions. I like the way they look, and the way they shoot. Optics are not my thing. But to your setup- the gun is to be used for hunting. In that case looks are not the primary concern. If it works for you in the application you employ it in, I say cool. My recurve bows are beautiful, I hunt with my compounds. Whatever works the best- use it.
;)

I have a 44 mag S&W 629 that I use for hunting. it has a rail with an Eotech mounted on top. I don't give a hoot how it looks.....it works. Guess what, I still have the rear site that can be reinstalled anytime I want so nah nah na boo boo.

vote abomination

Doesn't look all that handy or practical for anything but the target range.
I understand the need to address the issue of tired, old eyes.

Optics on a handgun are not my thing since I am not a hunter, but if you need or want it it's cool. Certainly not an abomination and I have seen some.

A juxtaposition of the traditionally effective with the modernly enhanced!!

I like it. If nothing else, because it breaks the mould.

I considered the weaver rig for my RH and may still, but now that I have a Rugged holster fit or iron sights, I'll try to make do!!

As has been said, if you like it, it's all you need to know!

My vote is absolutely for "abomination", but that definitely doesn't mean one shouldn't do it, or wish to do it, or love that they've done it.

It's horrendous to look at.

What did that poor Blackhawk do to you??? Nah, I'm kidding. It's your gun, if you like it that's the only thing that matters. I wouldn't do it to mine but that's a personal opinion.

Pahoo

Then again !!!
Now this is a true abomination. This was common before the advent of In-Lines. ......

Pahoo...
I love the flash burns on the side of that optic... I bet they never engineered it to be blast proof.

Steve - Let's see how it shoots. Then I'll decide.

I gotcha beat in the "Abomination" department.
Yes, yes I believe you do :)

My vote would be "practical." Had you done that to a one-of-a-kind gun, I might leer at you judgmentally, but that's a shooter. Do what works for you.

It's your gun so you can do what you like, don't suppose stag grips would go with it now though.:(
