A Woman's CCW

I Have heard this and this came from my brother who is a police officer and a friend of mine that is a retired swatt.That no matter what your weapon of choice is that there are some cases that bad guys that are high on PCP some refer to as angel dust they become superman on roids and are in a rage. Between the drugs and there adrenaline pumping in some cases anything short of a head shot or perhaps the heart they still are coming at ya.His words they can be full of holes and pretty much dead but there bodys,brains etc don't even know it yet.If thats true that is pretty scary that someone can be swiss cheese and still be standing.

Would not worry one bit, if she can shoot the 22lr. A 22 hit, is a lot more effective, than a 44 Magnum miss.

Berzerkers... no different than the ones from a thousand years ago.... it is a simple concept that if they are going to die they can do significantly more damage if they are completely out of their mind on drugs. Granted the ones of today don't do drugs with that intention or generally run naked at you while on them... it still works pretty damn good. I believe that is why they created a .45ACP in the first place isn't it? The berzerkers of that one tribe...

I don't know, either way a bullet is a bullet and you are not wise to think it really matters what size it is... I mean look at it this way. A bullet does not KILL anyone... it simply disrupts the body. It doesn't magically enter the body and dissentigrate the body on impact we haven't quite made it up to photon beams yet. A bullet is made to do ONE thing and that is to disrupt a vital organ if it doesn't do that then it doesn't kill. You can bleed out if you look like swiss cheese or you can die because your brain is relocated outside of your body... either way it isn't the bullet killing you it is the body being disrupted in some way.

A shot to the head will immediately incapacitate while bleeding out will give the guy you just shot enough time to effectively take you with him. The thing is the bullet only has to get to the organ... most ammo today including .22LR has that ability. We aren't superman walking around deflecting bullets with our super cool spandex suits on... gun shot wounds HURT.

I always wonder about handgun owners that keep coming on here saying size matters... I mean most guys I know try to convince women size doesn't matter then she goes to a range and they all try to convince her it does... We are going to confuse them eventually...
 
Womans CCW

My best friend collects guns. Has over 100 handguns. He let my wife try any she wanted to handle and/or fire. She started with a .22 and worked her way up in caliber. Result is she liked a .357 Windicator revolver firing 38 +P best. So that is what she has. Yes she has a .22 also, but that is just for fun.

She is a better shot than I am with either, but don't tell her I said so.

IMO some people chose the gun they do because they have no easy way to compare different choices. I'm glad both of us could benefit from my friends collection.
 
I told Mrs MLH I was planning on getting her a Sig 239 today when we did family budgets and she got mad--because "I hate shooting 9mm and you should know that. I want something in .45 and you don't need to buy it for me. Let's just go this week. You think Sig or 1911?"

Bliss! I did not ask if she had thawed on the CCW.

If she had said "I want a .17 revolver" (I don't even know if there is one) I think I'd be just as psyched.
