A Glock and a Chevy Trock

Daewoo is a Korean gun & car maker right?

Well I drive a 1997 4Runner with only 75,000 miles on it. But they are hard miles as we live in El Salvador. Yes it was built in Japan and doesn't have all the emission control that you have to deal with in the States. :D

There are very few American made cars here because they won't last in these conditions. However, the Toyota's are king here.

Know where the proof really is? Check out all of the Discovery Channel and other nature shows. What do they drive when a SUV is not for looks? Toyota, Nissan, Range Rover, Mitsubishi. Ford? Chevy? Dodge? NOT.

Oh yeah, Glocks. Ugly as all get out but they work and are accurate.

Difference tween a Yugo and a Range Rover is the Yugo electricals probably work.

Thought we was talkin Glocks n trucks. My Ford has probably less than ten percent of its 150,ooo miles carryin under a ton. Often two tons, sometimes three tons and it can tow five tons.

Sam...my favorite 9mm is the 9X32

You are correct. Range Rovers have a lot of electrical troubles--not to mention many other problems. I don't know much about Yugos, but since I don't see many around anymore I question their longevity.

sks,

I've traveled a lot in Latin America, and I agree that Toyotas are popular, but the ubiquitious 4x4 is the Suzuki SJ5 (Samurai in the US). I've seen those things scurry up volcanoe roads where not even LandCruiser IIs dared tread. I guess it's the Suzukis light weight, solid axles, and torque that make them ideal for bad roads. They make for a bone shaking ride, however.

I wish I could get a LandCruiser II or a HiLux here, but no such luck. The LandRover 88s are nothing to sneer at either. They're a bit sensitive, but they're tough vehicles, nothing like the knockoff Discovery which is good for messing around the city and not for serious work.

BTW aren't thing really hairy in Salvador right now?

Tecolote, those Suzukis were pretty popular here for a while but you can't hardly find one any more. You're right about them scampering up a mountain. But they are very limited on capacity. :)

Things aren't too bad in a general sense here right now. Just the usual crime, kidnapping, etc. Funny thing is that the police have been involved in most of it.

Well, I just sold my 96 1/2 Ton Chevy Yesterday, and it's been a good truck, but the fit and finish left a lot to be desired (air leaking through the door seals & A/C vents at highway speeds) but overall, no major problems.
My new truck is an F-250 4x4 Crew Cab (long bed), 7.3L Turbo Diesel, and let me tell you, this is the best ride I have ever owned in my life, fit & finish, power, quality, and looks, IMHO no other vehicle like it (even if it is 22 ft. long)

Agreed, I love my friends F250 Crew Cab. He paid close to 40k for it new, but IMHO its worth it. The backseat has enough leg room for most people, and the ride is luxury-car like. Its been very reliable too so far...
