As for me, I'm going to buy a Hi-Point 9MM, have someone engrave 'Walther" on the slide and see if anybody notices.:D
 
I would trust just about any gun on the list. I actually made multiple votes, hope that wasn't cheating since the poll allowed me to! If I had to narrow down to just my favorites, I'd say the P226, CZ-75, and Glock 17 without being picky about the generation. I am partial to full size and I carry full sized guns year round, even during 115+ degree weather here in Phoenix. I don't wear a gun for comfort. I get a good belt and holster and a full sized gun or compact feel virtually identical because of it so long as the guns are comparable (I.e. 229 and 226).

Lots of great guns out there, just gotta narrow down preferences. The PPQ isn't the best gun ever for me, but I can understand why it would be to others.

As an aside, I really wish Beretta would release the APX to the civilian market already! I'm seriously curious about that pistol. It looks really promising to me.

Sorry Not even close :rolleyes: most glock heads I meet and know won't even acknowledge other pistols exist :eek: I on the other hand have different brand names I just like the PPQ's trigger right out of the box ;) I fell for the glock hype, didn't like it and I will never own a glock again. :D
 
My go to handgun is my P2000. I do keep my VP9 loaded at home as well so I voted for that. Second choice on that list would be the G17 though mine is a gen 3.

Were I to find the need for a 9mm for some serious "social" work, I'd pick first the Browning Hi Power, followed by a HK P7.

Jeez Mike, been peeking in my collection lately? I carry a BHP, and a P7 rests in my bedside stand as my nightly protector.....

I went with the Canik, because that's the only one on that list that I own.

I like CZ's pretty well, but the Canik is a full size, high capacity, striker fired 9mm, with a better than average trigger pull.

It's easy to hit with, and mine has been dead reliable through about 400-500 rounds.
 
9mm polls

I never owned a 9mm until Jan of this year when I realized 9mm ammo was cheap and there was a lot of it available. I bought a Gen 3 Glock 19 in Jan and a CZ75 B in Feb. I've put about 700 rounds through each one and neither has ever malfunctioned.

I can understand why so many shooters like the CZ but the 19 is simpler, easier to conceal and for followup/rapidfire shots it's sights and trigger work better for me. A decent trigger job on the CZ is going to run about 40% the cost of the gun. I improved the Glock's trigger considerably with an aftermarket connector that cost around ten bucks and took about 5 minutes to install. I'd have to say if I had to pick one for an all purpose 9mm it would be the Glock 19.
 
I voted S&W M&P, although I am NOT a fan of 9MM. I do own an M&P 9, have several in 40 S&W, though. My first choice in that category of pistol wasn't included in your choices, FN-H FNS. My 2¢ worth............
 
Not what I would call a very inclusive or useful list.
I have already made my choice. I sleep with my wife on one side and a BHP on the other.
 
The poll results are looking like I thought they would with the Glock 19 and Cz 75 near the top. Lots of P226 owners too ;)
