9MM Hollowpoints: Not impressive

9mm

i am impressed with the accuracy of a 9mm but stopping pwr. i guess anything would hurt but something that will make someone turn around and see what hit them. Definately a .40 or .45 especially if you are using hollow points.

G-man 26,

I wasn't taking a stab at you, hence the ":)" after my comment about the math. Take a look in my signature line. You'll see I'm not a ".45 does it all" kind of guy. In fact the only gun I've ever carried is a 5-shot .38spcl and it makes me feel plenty well armed.

We can agree on one thing, there will never be an end to this debate. There may be for you in your mind, or me in mine, but never a consensus. We all use what we use because of our own reasons. Different tools for different jobs? I think so. Now, (not so tongue in cheek) this is the argument that should end it. I said “should” not will.

I think we can also agree that it's fun to stir the pot on this never ending debate. ;)

no one ever asks the hard questions. what i really wanna know is, will i be more dead if i'm run over by 16 honda accords or 8 dodge darts.

Ranger 9mm hollow points are impressive enough. The Black Talons used to be more impressive.

I don't understand this statement. The Ranger "T" Series of rounds is the newest generation, more refined version of the Black Talon. It's still the Black Talon, only better.

Are you perhaps referring to the non-Ranger (S9 product designation)SXT series as opposed to the Ranger (RA9T product designation) SXT series? (These two examples I used are for the 9mm 147 gr. HP loadings.):confused:

Yeah Sport, I get it. My first comment was intended to be tongue in cheek as well. I kind of got to feeling a little under gunned with the snub however. I have never needed anything, and stay out of the bad areas, and bad situations in general. But the five rounds were just a little on the light side for me. Then again, I am waiting for the end of the world and feel a need to run 30 round mags in my pocket gun. Once more, tongue in cheek.

Those ballistic gel pics are great. I want to know as well, 124gr? I have only ever fired 115gr rounds and I'm thinking of trying the 124gr. If I like them, I'll have to replace my entire inventory. Not sure that can be done this late in the game.
