Egad! What the heck was I thinkin?
Ugh! And I thought we were all just talking here. What ever happened to the first amendment? You know, that one directly preceeding the second amendment that all of us here consider gospel? Silly me, I should have realized that there was a potential for that hypothetical someone who didnt know better to take my words for legal advice. So, in the interest of preventing the aforementioned hypothetical individual from "getting sent up on murder charges", let me just state here and now that I AM NOT A LAWYER, AND NOTHING WRITTEN HEREIN SHALL CONSTITUTE LEGAL ADVICE NOR SHOULD IT BE CONSTRUED AS LEGAL ADVICE. Additionally, I have edited, to the point of totality, my previous post. Having said that, let me just say that if you find yourself in a home defense scenario ( that is to say, a "bad person" has breached the security of your residence with the obvious intent of committing some sort of criminal act, which the "bad person" has already done by breaching the security of your residence, and the possibility exist that serious injury or even death may be visited upon you and yours) and you are worried about whether your chosen means of defense might get you into trouble with our fine judicial system, then I put it to you that you are perhaps more suited to the role of victim, and as such you should consider leaving the ultimate safety of yourself and your family to a reactionary force that will surely arrive on the scene in time to save the day.
