327 federal rifle

When is marlin or another lever gun manufacturer going to chamber a lever gun for 327 federal, and why haven't they yet?

Lack of Flat Point bullets maybe.

Not to mention the cartridge was designed to do the job of a .357 in compact revolvers (6 shots of .327 vs 5 of .357)

Follow up to my post.

I think the rifle as a companion to a revolver able to shoot the multiple loads would be a neat combination. K

I've read about people having 32 H&R rifles re-chambered for .327. Apparently, they sometimes need some action tuning to reliably cycle the longer cartridge, but they have no problem dealing with the higher pressures.

I know there have been a few guys who have converted their Marlin 32 magnums to 327 Magnum.
If I had one I would not do it. Those 32 magnums are selling for over $1500.
You would be taking a $1500 gun and turn it into a $700 gun.

best to wait, sooner or latter one of these companies will notice how well the Single 7 has sold for Ruger and go. " Hey they may like to buy a lever gun to go along with those"

Have to hope any way.

What will we have when we chamber a lever gun in .327 Fed-Mag? A platform that can launch a 115gr. projectile to nearly 2000 f/s? Great, we've made a lever-action .30 Carbine.

what will we have?

You will have a rifle that shoots the same ctg as the revolver you choose to use that day. It is a concept that goes back to 1873 Win and 1892 Win rifles in 44/40, etc. And Marlin too, sorry I forget the model designation.

Perfectly reasonable request, IMHO. Marlin is now part of freedom group. First off, I dont expect any new product or innovation. Zero. Second the last Remlin lever to show up at the club would not even cycle rounds properly and felt like it had sand in the action. H&R was very responsive to load any new/different rounds in thier single shot. H&R not for everybody, but; I liked the H&R. Freedom Group (aka Remington) ended production after running that name into the dirt.

That leaves Ruger 77 as nice platform for a 327. How would that be?

I'd be interested but I doubt it will happen any time soon. I'm sure .357 out sells .327 10 to 1 and there aren't many .357 lever actions on the market. I'm not sure why there aren't more, but I've had my eyes open for a reasonably priced .357 for over a year to no avail.
I had a chance to to pick an old marlin that was NIB 2 years ago for $550 but passed because there were a bunch of other guns in the auction that I was interested in. I've regretted not buying it since that day.

The .327 Federal is one of many answers to an unasked question. Even Federal only loads it with 2 bullet weights. Insufficient demand.
Not many handguns made either.

I think an 1894 327 would be awesome, and fun! Like they did the 25-20 and 218 Bee with a half length magazine tube.

Great, we've made a lever-action .30 Carbine.

Thats not true. Have you every really shot a 32 cal to effect?
I have a Savage 32-20 that head shots on rabbits open sights 50 yards plus are easy.
Then if I had too I could make a very serviceable load for deer out to 100 yards. And every thing in between.
You have very few options with a 30 carbine.
32cal you can make what ever you want.

a 327 magnum carbine would be the the perfect Carbine.
I have a 357 mag lever gun and its good and all. But its not perfect.
Not saying if they came out with a lever gun in 30 carbine I wouldn't buy it.
I would add it to the mix.
But its the same reason I dont want a Ruger Black Hawk in 30 carbine.
It just cant do enough.
But they came out with the Single 7 in 327 mag.
I bugged them until they mailed one to my FFL

I get ,guys that are not 32 cal guys are not. They like what they like.
But I dont get why it seems they think we should not get what we like?
You would not choose it so I cant.

Even if 10% of the 327 magnum revolver owners bought a rifle I doubt it would be enough to justify a new lever gun.
Why do you think the single 7 is selling well?

I'd buy one the minute I found out they were being sold. I love the cartridge and the fact I can shoot several different cartridges out of the same gun.

I have a GP-100 7 round revolver, and would love a companion lever gun.

That's what's nice about guns, there are calibers out there for every taste. Buy what you like, and skip over the ones you don't like.
