30cal Carbine round

AMT made an auto called the Javelina (don't know if the spelling is correct) that fired the M1 carbine cartridge. Haven't seen one in years. At an indoor range many years ago and the guy in the next both was shooting one. Man was it loud. He really like the gun though. But dropping the gun from a 16inch rifle barrel will probably really effect velocity. Plus ammo has gotten real expensive for them. Not like when all the old military stuff was floating around years ago.

IWB....

... no, but maybe in one of these:

Sam Andrews designed these for some police officer friends of his.

That's not exactly correct.

The Javelina you mentioned was a 1911 with a 7 inch barrel and slide chambered in only 10mm and nothing else. It used many standard 1911 parts. It's very similar to the AMT Hardballer Long Slide, but chambered in 10mm.

The .30 Carbine AMT was the previously mentioned Automag III, which was a semi-auto pistol with a long-ish slide and barrel, but it was a completely different design from a 1911 and shared no parts at all.

As for the velocity drop in .30 Carbine from a handgun barrel, it's substantial but still a screamer. From my 7.5 inch .30 Carbine Blackhawk, I believe I'm running in the 1,600 fps area. There's room for me to go faster, but it quickly leads to sticky extraction.

Taurus Raging 30, double action revolver, now discontinued. I think there was a Contender barrel at some point.

I have GI carbine, Universal carbine, Automag III, and Blackhawk. Missed out on the Taurus.

The Raging Thirty is quite scarce. Not sure if the idea didn't work or if it didn't sell well or what, but they are not easy to find.
