Well, I like the .270 and 30-06 and in fact have several rifles chambered to both rounds. However, when I finally decided to bite the bullet and have a custom rifle made up,one that was not just a rebarreled milsurp but one with a few extra refinements and a stock by a known stock maker I went with a 1909 Argentine with the metal work by the Harry Lawson Company in Tucson and the stock bt Sterling Davenport. Cost me a bit of coins the realm but I decided it was to be a .280 Remington.
Probably take it on my next elk hunt if I can get it to shoot the bullet I want. The Nosler 150 gr. ABLR. If not? There's always the Nosler Partition.
