I have the X-Five Competition (same gun, but trigger not adjustable). It makes me look like I'm a really good shot! I'd make it a safe queen but I really need this gun for range work and competitions. I have several Colt Gold Cups, an STI 2011 custom compensated 45, CZ's CZ clones and a Belgian C-Series Hi-Power - all fantastic guns in their own right. But none perform as well as my X-Five.
In fact, I should sell my X-Five Competition and buy that Level 1.
For $2000 it has to be center I would buy a performance center 627 competition 8 shot revolver in .357. and with the remainder spend a a couple of hundred dollars on a nice shoulder rig to carry it.
One other option, would be to wait till the 2019 Shot Show. See what newest firearms are coming to the market, or what older models are getting updates.
Look at the CZ AccuShadow 2. It might not be as high end as some of the suggestions here but it will not limit the performance of anyone. I own a Shadow 2 and it is simply amazing to shoot, better than the sum of its parts. The AccuShadow 2 is even better.
