.25 or a good knife?

A knife is a good stand by for when you run out of bullets.

But don't choose it lightly. Once you stick a blade into another mans flesh... you will never be able to forget the feeling ... not a pleasant thing to live with.

It is a more animalistic way to kill... but higher than the rock.

How fair would any of you feel about a duel, you with a knife, choose your best and me with my 25 Browning? Yeah, it is not a 45 or 357 but it is a gun, fires a projectile and is the thing to have.

You did not specify distance.
I am 59 now. Authoritic, had cancer, store bought knee installed so am no candidate at all for CQB any more.
Even w/ Authoritis, before cancer & w/ a bad knee at 3ft I would pick the knife.

At 30ft the gun has to be the choice.

Depends

Depends on what you can carry legally.

If you really prefer something small and concealable, the smaller glocks or kahrs are good options too.

Well, just get a GRAD .22 Knife. It has a .22 revolver inside of the handle. That way, you knife guys are happy; you .22 guys are taken care of; and the revolver folks won't complain about it being an unreliable semi-auto.

Win-win for everyone.

So just don't dismiss the blade. Especially a good sized blade in well practiced hands.

Actually, I'm FAR more fearful of a knife attack. I'm not sure if it's an objective fear, but I'd just rather be shot any day.

I have no knife training so I stick with the gun for now. I would like to get some though because it can be a devastating weapon.

Yup, not something we like to think about, but it is worth mentioning.

My current supervisor used to work with a fellow who was mugged. He pulled out his pocket knife and managed to fight off the attackers, killing one of them, IIRC. It unhinged him--he ended up having a nervous breakdown.

I can pull the trigger on my single action .25 much faster then I can repeatedly stab someone and 7 of those little bee stings are likely to discourage at worst, if not I have a fist load to punch with until the BG bleeds to death. It is also less gory then filleting someone with a knife as some have mentioned. :p
