Where are the Glocksters in this poll? Or will they chime in this time next year with RTF praises?

I'm not feeling the whole " RTF " design. It just doesn't do it for me.

That being said, To me Glock could be the handgun of the year, every year.

I just hope the generation 4 design is not like the RTF - :barf:

It's not that big of a deal though, I would still buy one, if that was the only way I could get them.

I cant believe that Taurus is scoring more than HK and Walther!

That said, Steyr being dead last is just surprising since their M9 was not bad at all.

Suggestion

Listings for Handgun of the Year should be of only specific models introduced or redesigned during the year of selection. For example: Motor Trend does not name a manufacturer of automobiles as Car of the Year, they name a specific model by a specific manufacturer.

The listing should be built as a new model or redesign is introduced by a manufacturer.

Listings should be closed on November 30th.

Voting should be from December 1st through December 31st.

No results should be displayed until after January 1st.

I like the suggestions but then I dont know if this software allows hidden polls. I know that Admins can add poll to a thread at anytime, but not sure about hidden poll.

Ruger has two which make the cut: LCP & LCR.
Picking just one is a tough decision.

I'll have to go with the LCR inasmuch as I bought one which pretty well sums up my thinking (but if I did get an auto it would be the LCP).

Both are great for CC. I don't disqualify all others, the manufacturers seem to be recognizing the true needs of the market and this makes for a great selection, but tough choices. Which is exactly what it should be.

I cast my vote for Taurus because of the two models I own. The 709 slim is the most bang for the concealed carry buck, and the 24/7 OSS-DS is truly (IMO) an awesome primary side-arm.

If you have not put your word in then please as the poll is about to end in a few weeks, deciding the best, in ones opinion, handgun manufacturer for 2009.

How was Kahr the worst for 2008? It had the least votes for best, that does not make it the worst. Maybe everyone on the site agrees it is second best.

I just noticed that and thought I would point it out.

I doubt many at all would vote Kahr as the worst brand handgun.

I'm going to have to go with Ruger, I think they are becoming better and better with their designs and they have always been good.

This is a close one for me. Ruger definitely blew everyone away with the LCP. However, Taurus improved on the pocket .380 with the TCP IMO and released the PT709 which is one of the hottest selling guns out right now.

My vote goes to Taurus but barely.
