2008 Presidential Candidates?

i have a question (remember not to political savvy) how many elected officials (governor, senator, congressman) are there from the constitution party? i don't know of any. it would seem that in order for them to have a shot that they would have to have one bright blazing star that even the americans that don't follow politics would know. that way the mass majority of voters (people like me) would be able to associate that they have done many good things for there state.

The only way that the Constitution party has a chance at all is if they start getting really serious about winning smaller, local elections. There is no way in hell that they could put up a candidate for President and win without that.

While I also would like to see the Constitution party become a viable choice, I get the feeling that they aren't really serious about winning elections, but just throwing their agenda out there for people to read and say: "Wow, look at THAT!"

Let's face it, it's easier to start winning elections at the School Board level and get some good PR on the way up to running Congressional and Senatorial candidates, but the Constitution party seems to want to start out at the top (President) without having to do the hard work at the bottom which is where ALL political agendas get their start before they can become successful.

At the same time, those of us who complain about where the Republican party has been going need to be aware that you can change that with one candidate at a time. Start paying more attention to the Primary candidates and the fine points of their agendas and philosophies and vote accordingly.
Don't assume that just because someone is a registered Republican means that they are on our side (mostly the Conservative side).
Olympia Snow is probably the best example (of many) where a Liberal has been elected running as a Republican. THAT'S what Republicans have to pay attention to and stop that from going any further.

I really dont care for any of em.I am no longer a repubican and dismayed at the mess both parties have gotten us into and their double talk.libertarian or make up my own...unless someone steps in the place that can prove to be able to make a difference without further wrecking our constitution.

the clintoons are finished, hitlery may try to get in but I doubt alot would take it seriously.the whole "bill" thing follows her like a black cloud..and her stance on guns wont fly.messing with the constitution is a deal breaker.people are sick of it.

no ex military people,no big oil people, no filthy rich people..just want a plain ordinary person that stands up for us,our economy, our laws, the constitution and brings back what has been lost.is that too much to ask?

As for Hillary.I think the only reason she hasn't divorced Bill is she needs him to make a run at the Presidency, I don't think the people would give her a second thought as a Divorced Woman Canidate, even though she would get a sympathy vote for having been humillitated inpublic the way she was, BS did you ever think about why bill seemed to always be looking for sex elsewhere, I'vre always heard that a man happy at home ain't looking for something, somewhere else.

Seems I heard that they were overheard having a fight while inthe whitehouse and she was throwing things at him?

The one I feel Sorry for is the Girl, and it seemed she was a lot closer to Bill than Hillary, wonder why?

I beleive we may see Senator George Allen R-Va. make a run.
I don't think the dems will do something as foolish as nominate Hillary.
May still be too early to tell.

It simply means that the Girl seemed closer to her father than her Mother, If you are trying to go beyond that you are on the wrong track. I just feel that Hillary is a rather cold person in the Afection department, to involved in Hillary, not husband or daughter.

Every thing does not have a nasty implication, some things are just as the words imply they are with out a hidden meaning.

Both parties are merely whores for power - neither party respects or honors the principles of liberty - both use the flag and the symbols of freedom - and both desecrate them in practice.

My father was a JFK democrat who came from a family of democrats - JFK was the last democrat he ever voted for in a national election. When I was young I voted democrat - Carter. In the intervening years - I voted mostly Republican or conservative, (in the state of Illinois downstate democrats are often more conservative than Chicago area republicans).

Today, I no longer believe that there is a lot of difference between the parties - both are enemies of freedom. I will vote 3rd party from now on. Will it be my fault and the fault of people like me if liberal democrats take over in Washington? That is one valid way of looking at it. However, it is also true that both parties have abandoned, for all meaningful purposes, the fundamental guiding principles of freedom and liberty on which our country was founded.

I will not cast my vote out of fear and allow myself to be manipulated into supporting the lesser of two evils - for that way leads only to the further degradation of liberty. I no longer believe that either party truly cares about anything more than getting re-elected and staying in power. Therefore, I will vote for those individuals and parties that I believe truly support the foundational principles on which our nation was founded as embodied in the constitution and the bill of rights.

It is only by standing firm to the principles of liberty no matter the cost or peril that there is any hope for liberty. Otherwise, our votes will be taken for granted and our principles will be given lip service and the steady march to an ever bigger, ever more powerful, mommy/daddy state will continue unabated.

It is time to say no. It is time to say no more. If one will not do it with their vote - when it is easy to do so and there is little personal risk or sacrifice – then when will one do so? For, if we will not stand by our principles when it is easy, will we stand by them when it is hard and the cost is dear? When either party truly stands for liberty they will find me there. But, when they betray, in the name of power or fear, the precious principles of liberty, they will find me standing against them. I doubt that prospect worries either party very much. But, for me it makes all the difference – for I can look in the mirror without flinching – and I can look my children in the eye and tell them that their father did not sell their freedom for the illusion of security or a pocketful of promises.

WELL SAID MACK!!! I agree 100% with your every word.

I am not from Illinois, but Texas - being a democrat there used to mean conservative. Most probably still are more conservative than Giuliani, Governator, et al.
