if they had just stayed home none of this would have happened. they brought everything on themselves. even if he had shot them i still stay it is their fault.

i can hear it now "jose got shot because he was too lazy to follow immigration procedures." :D :D

Since when does criminal trespass justify homicide?

Not in any civilized country I've ever heard of. I recommend you scout out a nice third world non-state to relocate yourself to, as there you might have a chance at living the "I can shoot any trespassers I want without consequences" dream.
 
We used to allow shooting of criminal trespassers in the past. Falls under the category of protecting property.

At no time in the history of English or American law has misdemeanor trespass justified lethal force.

I'm open to examples if you think I'm wrong.
