Excuse the title, that was minute's, not minute (60 second's).

Went to Walmart* last night around 9pm to get some groceries, and did my usual stop by the sporting goods to see how empty they are, and hopefully pick up some 22lr in bulk.

Well, when I got there the clerk who I know, yells across the store, "Ha we got some ammo" There it was 15 cases of WWB 100 packs. Wow, I wish I had my camera. So I got two cases, and started to buy them, and my credit card failed. Darn security measures, they do that all the time. So I ask the guy can I go home and get some cash, because I didn't feel like calling the credit card company late at night if ya know what I mean.

I live close so it was 5 minutes each way. I come back and all but one case was left showing, and a guy was handing over a few thousand dollar with a cart "Full" of 10 case's of 9mm, and a case of something else. I just shook my head in discus and there was people ahead of me on there cell phone seeing if there buddies need ammo I guess.

I asked "where's my ammo" which I left in a shopping cart, they said "Don't worry we have it under the counter"

I didn't say anything to the guy with 10 case's of 9mm at first but after he asked for a discount, I asked him what is he going to do with 10,000 rounds. He said "Oooh, I got buddy's that have been looking for it"

Okay, fair enough, if he's isn't BS'n me.

These clerk's know me from way before the ammo hoarding (Not shortage) started happening, so I said "it's to bad use regular shooters have to suffer."

So that my friends, it's people like that is the reason, you can't find ammo.

And, one other note, if I could have bought as many case's as I wanted, I would have bought three ($645), instead of two ($430).

PS: That was my 44 Magnum gun savings. Maybe next year.

The ammo companies are going 24/7 365 to try to fulfill the needs of these nutz!!

Remember the battle of the bulge!

"Nuts!"

Okay, back to the here and now, I was just trying to make a point.

At least he did leave a "Few" case's for other's.

I wouldn't be suprized to see that ammo on a table at the next gun show, at a 30-50% mark up.

you dog the guy who buys 10 cases; and yet you buy 2 cases and would have bought 3 if you had the money??? Yea, there's a big difference. So where's the limit? Is it his 10,000 rounds? Maybe 5,000 rounds. Maybe it's the 2000-3000 you got; would have gotten. Some people would say it's around 500 rounds.

Fortunately around here, we don't have a lot of hoarding. There isn't 1 caliber that can't be found here. Including 380auto. The prices might be a littler higher than they were a year ago, but it isn't like some of those selling on the auctions. Or worse yet, places like cheaperthandirt who are selling pistol ammo for $40-$50 a box. But of course, you can't be that upset with those selling at those prices. You realize that there is a lot of idiots who make it known that they will pay those prices. You hear it here on the forums. People openly saying they'd pay almost anything if they could find it. The only thing I wish walmart would do is to discourage resellers. Don't allow 10 cases to be sold to one person. Sell 10 boxes at a time per person. (And don't tell me 500 rounds isn't enough until the next shipment). I guess it's all about how deep a person's paranoia runs.

If I could have bought all 15 case's, "Scooter", I still would have bought only three for my shooting needs for the "time." I've been a shooter long before this ammo "Shortage" has been going on "Scooter."

So pack it up! And forget about it! I'm tired, and don't need to deal with folk like you!

If I could have bought 15, I still would have only bought 3.

Now do you want to talk to the tan Italian looking dude and ask him the same thing?

The next thread on here will be "I wanted to buy two cases of ammo, but Walmart has a sign - two boxes per customer" and someone will be griping about that. You just can't please everyone all the time.

500 rounds might be one shooting session.

I don't really care how much he buys. Guys like him will eventually run out of money to spend on ammo, or run out of places to store it.

couple months back there was a fellow went into the local Wally and bought every last .22LR in stock.
that actually creates a 'panic' in itself since folks think 'what if there's none next time I make it in here?'

that's why the shortage never bothers me. A number of years ago (10-12 years), I bought 2 boxes of ammo for each caliber I had. I did that once a month for 12 months. In a year, I had a little over a case of 45acp, 38spl, 357mag, 32, 380, 22. I had 480 rounds of 7mm mag, 30-30, and 223. 500 rounds of 12 gauge misc sizes. Then, after that stock was in place, I bought the amount of ammo I needed/wanted to shoot at that time. Or, if it was ammo I ordered, I would wait till I needed 500 rounds to replenish. So right now, I am a little low on ammo because I've had to shoot some. And when the stock becomes available at "NORMAL" consistency, I will restock back up. If it gets to the point where ammo will never be available on a regular basis, then shooting as a sport will be reduced or eliminated. The original stock, listed above, will simply be my survival stock just in case. Whether for defense, food, or trading material/investment.

The reason I bring this up is because of those out there that have bought/hoarded a lot of ammo. The person who rarely shoots, probably only hoarded about 5 boxes. Those who shoot regularly and has hoarded a lot recently, hopefully will learn from this. They will stock a certain amount that they don't tap except for times like this. But instead, there will be a lot of people who will be selling off a lot of what they bought. And they will be ****** because they won't get what they paid for it. Then they will be stupid and buy/hoard again in the future when something similar happens again. Some people just won't learn.

Sounds like he already ran out of money, they declined his card:eek:

Our walmart as a two box per customer limit, but it will all still sell out in a day its nuts. I'm only shooting .22's until this crap stops. I have a fresh box of 100 WWB and enough hollow points for my carry guns. If I happen to go to walmart and there is a box left I will buy it, if not I think my K-22 and 10/22 are gonna get a lot more attention.
