Your Ruger SP 101

A combination between vehicle/camping/trail/and sometimes conceal carry gun...it's kind of a do-it-all for me.

CC and home defence. It's the only pistol I have that has both a crimson trace laser grip and a Trijicon front sight for things that go bump in the night.

It is now my DO ALL in my collection .Does fill all the voids of gun ownership without all the bells and whistles. POINT & SHOOT .

Carried mine all day today in a Kramer pocket holster.

I always have it in my jeans pocket in the country.

same as many above, except i dont often leave guns in the car. hopefully be backed up by another piece soon, possibly another revolver maybe smith 642 or ruger lcr.

I bought my wife an SP when they first hit the market way back in the day. I love that little thing. SHE has decided it's just too heavy to lug around so it lives in my safe. She carries a S&W M 36. A little more "dainty" I suppose. I have been told that the first year model production with "125 JHP bullet ONLY" stamped on the barrel has become a collector's item now. But I have no safe queens and besides, it's just too much fun too shoot. She'll still shoot it but she won't carry it.

Either one of mine fit the role of, "gee....I feel like carrying a revolver today".

When I had mine I used it for hd, truck gun, ccw. Like an idiot I sold it to buy another gun. Never should have got rid of it.......it was a great shooter.

It's a tweener: home defense, occasional carry, truck gun and trail gun. I'm not sure it does anything great. But it does a lot of things pretty well.

My SP-101 was my E/D Concealed Carry for 8+ years. I bought an LCR, .357 and It's an easier carry gun. I've been carrying the LCR for about a year in the same holster the SP use to ride in. The SP-101 still rests where it's handy to get to when I need it.
The LCR .38special is easier to carry in my pocket, when I need it, though.

My DAO 3" SP101 is in the safe 80% of the time now, and being carried only 20%.

It used to be carried a lot more, but since I got the .357 LCR, and with its trigger being about twice as good as the SP101's, the LCR is getting the nod more than the SP101 these days.

I won't get rid of it though. I've had it too long, and it's like an old buddy. When I do my part, I can get past the stiff trigger.

And it is a good training pistol for new shooters. I've got several of those in my extended family these days. The weight, plus .38 range loads, plus the regular hammer with the SA option make it much better for a novice shooter to get the basics down.
