Your opinions please.

I have two Springfields and trust my life to each of them. I disagree with the instructor - strongly.

The Ruger is a good choice. I have a few now, have owned several more and couldn't be happier with Ruger. I have never owned a Taurus so can't give a valid experience based opinion. Have examined and shot a few but that's it. The Judge looks fun but I think the novelty of it would wear off quickly. I can't imagine that a .45lc with an elongated cylinder and a barrel that doubles as a shotgun is very accurate. On the other hand a compact 9mm from a respected manufacturer would make a lot more sense for a carry gun choice to me.

The only good thing I can say about the Taurus (and it's really hard on me to say anything good about them), is that the Judge would be a pretty good snake gun. That said, one of the .45/410 derringers out there would be just as good and a heck of a lot easier to carry.
