Your opinion on a post from another gun forum

None of my instructors looked like that - darn it!

When the local PD got Glock 17's, one brave officer encountered an inebriated citizen who was standing in the middle of the street waving an old .32 around. The cop, after suitable warnings, fired at the potted gentleman, blasting off 16 shots with no hits. The last round nicked the arm of the inebriated one, who promptly fell down, crying for his mommy to kiss it and make it well. He was treated at the ER, and was jailed; the DA chose not to bother with prosecuting the domestic terrorist.

But the police chief told a radio interviewer that "had it not been for our new high capacity pistols, this incident might have had a tragic end." He never said where the other 16 bullets went; maybe they are still bouncing off buildings downtown.

You wouldn't have to worry about a proper fitting ankle holster, just pit your leg through it! Makes it much more difficult to draw

6 shots (when you can have several times as many with similar reliability) is pitiful, yes.

That there I'm sure he's referring to auto-loaders.

My take-away?

Its on some other unknown forum and nothing about the context of the statement is given to properly assess it.

My thought as well. Very hard to judge the conversation without reading the context. Throw us a link and we can probably be more helpful.

That first post does not make any sense to me. I know that the autocorrect function can make some of my posts read like gibberish. I try to read my post before clicking the Submit Reply button. Doesn't always happen though.

I have a S&W617, which is a 10-round revolver firing 22LR. It is a K frame sized gun, and I guess if S&W wanted to, they could make an N-frame with a slightly larger cylinder that would hold 11 or 12 rounds. I've never seen a revolver that holds less than 5 rounds nor any that holds more than my 10 round gun, but that's not claiming there aren't any. But anyone who thinks a revolver is pitiful is just showing his ignorance. My guess is that he is a new shooter who owns a Glock and therefore thinks any other gun must be crap because he chose what he knows is the best gun in the world, or some other nonsense like that.

Sounds like a semi-auto guy trying to convince a revolver guy that his revolver is an inadequate relic. And then some jumbled response from the revolver guy about high capacity revolvers???

Now, my position: Semi-autos are far more reliable than they were pre-Glock. And, if the revolver guys really believed that all you need is one shot, they'd be ditching their revolvers for derringers or at least the double-tap 45.....which they aren't. But, hey, Taurus and S&W make 8-shot .357's, some of which can actually be carried concealed. So for carry purposes, I don't see a whole lot of difference - whatever floats your boat.
