For 26 years it was a Lightweight Commander. For the past year it has been a Glock 21. That may be replaced by a Glock 30 if it is controlable and more convenient.

Since retirement all have been loaded with Hydra Shoks. Before that, department issue ball.

Ditto Parabellum, Glock 19, Trijicons, Cor-bon 115+P in hicaps. This thing goes just about everywhere with me, more places than my leatherman or my dog.

My bedroom gun is a Taurus Model 85 stainless .38 Special with 3 Glasers and 2 Starfire 125 gr HP. On woods walks, I will either carry that with 2 shot loads for snakes and 3 hollowpoints, a .357 Colt Trooper with 2 shot loads and 4 140 gr. HP's, or a Colt Commander .45 ACP with 200 gr. HP's. For more serious hunting, either a 4-inch Model 29 or Ruger Bisley .44 mag. When push comes to shove, I count on the Commander for defense. Rattlesnakes are a definite problem in the woods I walk.

Here of late I was using a .380 Bersa around the house and on a few road trips. My main carry was always my Beretta 8040,But that could change with the recent purchase of my Glock 27 :)

Your question has several answer's. Here in
"The Heart Of Old Dixie" where heat index reach 105 degrees in the summer, with a
considerable amount of moisture; I prefer
the Glock 27 .40 caliber sub compact on
those day's. However, I can still be found
with my personal favorite, the Sig-Sauer
P220A in .45ACP. I consider it my "all
around business gun". In short's and tee
shirt, probably an older Smith & Wesson
model 60 in .38 Special. Add to the equation,
for more serious social encounter's I may
be toting a 5" barrel Smith & Wesson model
629 Classic .44 Magnum!!! :) All choice's
seem to work rather well; whether it be
man or beast that one is hunting. :D

Wilson CQB with a Mitch Rosen ARG IWB holster. I fired the CQB in every possible awkward position to be sure it will not jam. I also fired 1000 rounds through it without cleaning to see if it would jam. The CQB passed with flying colors. Many of my other "possible" carry guns did not pass my torture test.

Almost exclusively a G26. Am tempted to try a newly aquired G30 out but don't know if increase in size is worth it (used to carry around a ParaOrd P14.45- snicker :) call me paranoid!)

City:

80% of time: Glock 30 (.45) with 1+1 Triton 165 Quik-shocks, followed by 8x 230 ball.

15% of time: Kel-Tec P32 with ball

5% of time: Glock 27 with 135 Quik-shoks

(the future may hold a G36 for carry)

Woods:

Glock 29 with Corbon 180 10mm bonded SJRN
AND Glock 30 with CCI .45 shotshells (still saving for the .44 mag)
